The aggressive typing on the keyboards echoed around the empty house. You were doing your work, or at least, trying to. Everything was difficult when you and Porco argue. It's barely happened... but today was just unlucky.
You argued with him about a party you wanted to go to, when he told you that he wouldn't let you go- spewing on some stupid shit about how the person hosting it was dangerous and had no boundaries. You turned into a fight where- you didn't care about going to the party anymore, you were just getting petty about his controlling behaviour.
"Have it your damn way!" He growled, slamming the front door shut on his way out.
At the time, you had hissed at the door, mumbling insults and mocking him under your breath. It seemed right at the time. All that anger and worked up tears of regret. Now, you were just miserable. It had been three hours, yet he still hadn't returned.
The oven interrupted with a beeping noise, signalling that the food was ready. You slapped your palms over your face in exhaustion. Earlier on, you made his favourite food, in hopes of apologising for yelling at him. But at this point, it'll get cold.
A small sob escaped your lips, only a small tear slid down your cheek. You were only frustrated, with yourself and Porco. He was only worried but he made himself sound so possessive that you took it in such a way.
Your stomping had weakened to normal steps as you made your way to the kitchen. Everything was ready, you cleaned out of anger, you even burnt some candle wax, a really nice scent that he'd always compliment.
Although you wanted him home again, you were too prideful to send a text.
Outside the kitchen window, the summer sun had already set, the sky was only slightly dark, the birds were still singing outside, pecking at the bird feeder that Reiner got Porco for his birthday- which Porco begrudgingly accepted, only because he loved robins so much.
He'd love to sit by the kitchen table and stare at the birds like a mindless five year old girl, mesmerised.
The noises were relaxing, setting you in a nostalgic and serene state, you were sure you had no attitude left in you anymore, only hope and belief that both he and you would make this right again.
Just as you were about to open the window for some gentle breeze, the door suddenly unlocked, the footsteps and style of keys jingling alerted you that it was Porco. He was finally home.
Yet, you stayed in your place, too shy to face him. You only turned to face the glass door of the kitchen, pretending to be interested in the clouds. You would be, if Porco wasn't plaguing your mind.
His footsteps were rushed, yet slightly hesitant. You thought, maybe he'd go upstairs, to give you the silent treatment, but instead, he had entered the kitchen. Behind you.
Gazing into the window reflection, you could see him, the way he stared at you as if he had seen puppies being skinned alive. Genuine regret had been carved onto his face...? You turned your eyes away, scared you'd make eye contact.
"Hey..." he awkwardly muttered, his olive green eyes dropped to floor and his palm rubbed at the lack of his head. Flustered.
When you turned around, you were shocked to notice his tear stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes.
"Porco... were you... crying...?"
He shakily scoffed, "No... I-I..." he turned away the moment his eyes prickled. He didn't want to show you his vulnerability, after all, he promised to be the one you'd depend on. Betrayed by his croaking voice, he had just given in and resorted to whimpering by the door like a hopeless child.
"Pock." You approached him and reached out for his quivering shoulder, only for him to spin around and pull you into his pudgy embrace. His hand protectively cradled the back of your head to secure you.
"Y/n!" He burst, letting out a strangled sob. "I'm so sorry! I just- I just don't feel loved-" he choked out. "You're all I have left and I- I treated you like this!"
"Porco!" You cut him off with your own weep. Then responded to his hug by squeezing his chubby torso tight. "Don't be sorry. I'm sorry! I missed you so much..."
"No I'm sorry..."
For a few minutes, you both stood in silence, bodies connected to each other like puzzle pieces in a tight embrace. "Are we just going to apologise to each other like two idiots?" You mumbled, voice stuffed up from all the crying.
"It sounds like we are." He responded. Another sniffle could be heard before his palm slithered from your head to your face, slightly breaking the hug to fondly watch his thumb caress your pretty face.
"We could be doing something else... now that we've forgiven each other... hm?" You softly clasped his palm, pushing it further against your cheek.
"Like what?" He whispered. His eyebrows softened, his eyes disowned any negativity, reflecting only affection when he peered down at you.
"I made your favourite, I'm sure you're hungry right now."
To your surprise, he shook his head. "I don't feel an appetite right now." Porco never rejects food, especially when it's something he really likes. "I want to cuddle instead."
You blinked twice, eyes aching from the previous river of tears. You were tired a bit, sure. But it was still wasn't night time. You and Porco only cuddle during naps or sleep. So...
"It's still only seven PM." You said.
"I don't care, I'm tired, I can tell you are too." His palm went to your wrist, his thumb rubbing down your veins and back, causing your eyelids to slightly weigh down.
"I guess... it doesn't sound so bad..." you yawned. And so you followed him to your bedroom, crawling under the sheets and holding each other, as if the other would disappear if they'd let go.
