Tobias POV
Uriah and Marlene dropped luca off a few hours ago and we're all getting ready to go down to the dinning hall to eat dinner with everyone. Uriah told me that he and Marlene had some news to share so I'm anxious to see what it is. "Tobias!" I hear tris call from the bedroom. I'm in the kitchen fixing the buttons on Luca's shirt. "What?" I call back. "Where are my combat boots?" She asks. She's always losing things. "In the closet, on the left." I say without missing a beat. "Now how'd you do that??" She asks laughing while walking out ready to go. I shrug and give her a smirk.
"Ready?" I ask luca. Tris is grabbing some strawberries from the fridge. "I'm cold." Luca says. "Do want your coat or your jacket?" I ask him. "Coat." I walk into his room and grab his big fluffy blue winter coat, I slip it on him and he toddles around looking like a giant blueberry. I lift him onto my shoulders and we head down to the dinning hall. "I swear uriah! I will kill you!" I hear screaming. I look to tris and oddly she's wearing a smile. She runs past me into the dining hall. I see her go to our table and hug a girl with a shaved head. Lynn.
I walk over faster and set luca down, "Looks like you two got busy." She says eyeing us and smirking. "Good to see you too." I say. Everyone else is already here, Marlene and Shauna next to Lynn, zeke and uriah across from them and Christina and will next to each other. I sit by tris and place luca on my lap. "Who is he?" She asks. "This is luca. Luca that's Lynn." I say introducing them. Lynn first say much but instead stuffs a bite of food into her mouth. Luca pokes my side and I look down at him. "Why she look like boy?" He asks. I chuckle lightly. "She wanted a new look." I say. He nods and grabs a roll, he begins to pick pieces off and put them in his mouth.
"So uriah. What was the news you guys had?" I ask before taking a bite of my own food. "Well." He starts but then looks at Marlene. "We're adopting!" They shout at the same time. Tris, Christina, and Shauna wear over joyed expressions while Lynn's a bit in shock. Zeke pats uriah on the back while the girl swarm Marlene in hugs. I smile and congratulate him.
"That's why we wanted to babysit luca. To get used to the feeling of having a kid in the house. The girl we're adopting is five as well." Marlene says. "I wanted a boy. But noo!" Uriah says and everyone laughs. "Her names April!" Marlene says smiling. The girls continue to talk about the topic and us men, make silly faces which make us all laugh. I know, mature right?!
