Chapter 70

Tobias POV

We wake the next morning and I have to say that this is the best sleep I've had in a very long time. Tris still sleeps soundly next to me, still wrapped in my arms.

Her hair a bit messy but still complements her. I can't see her eyes but I wish I could. They're the kind of eyes I could stare into all day, their beauty overpowering me. She says that that's how she feels about my eyes, the blue always getting to her.

"It's not polite to stare." She mumbles. I chuckle, "Dauntless aren't supposed to be polite." I tell her and she opens her eyes, revealing to me her grey-blue eyes.

"You're so beautiful." I tell her. "I'm not. But thanks." She says sitting up, and swinging her legs over the bed so that they dangle off.

"You are. End of discussion." I say so that she can't argue back. I can tell she's rolling her eyes but I know I won this, and I was right to win it.

"What should we do today?" I ask Tris, standing up and grabbing a sweatshirt since it's a bit chilly in the house.

"I thought that maybe we do something with Luca, a family thing." She suggests. "That sounds good." I tell her and she smiles, but its not her normal smile or a big one.

"What's wrong?" I ask sitting next to her, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, allowing me to see her face.

"I'm just sad today, I don't know." She says. "What else?" I ask and she looks at me oddly.

"I know there's more on your mind, what is it?" I ask. She sighs.

"I've had this really weird feeling. Like something bad is going to happen." She says.

"Tris, I won't let anything else happen to you or to luca." I tell her, she's looking at me and in her eyes hold worry and nervousness for the future.

"Promise?" Tris asks. "Promise." I say and kiss her temple, letting my lips linger there.

"Pwomise what?" I hear a small voice ask. We turn our heads to the door and Luca stands there, he's in a black dauntless outfit that makes me love him even more. And he's clutching the lion he never parts with.

"Come here." I say and he skips over. I lift him onto my lap and turn him so he can look up at me easily.

"I told your mom here that I'd always protect you two." I say and he hold his lion up. "Wion too?" He ask and I chuckle lightly. "Yes. I'll protect him too." I say and Luca snuggles into me more.

"Hey luca." Tris says and Luca listens. "How would you like to do something today? All four of us." She says, adding Luca's lion as the fourth person. He nods his little head up and down, making me smile.

"Where would you like to go?" I ask him and he scrunches his little face up, showing that he's thinking. I look over at Tris and she's holding back a laugh.

"Amity." He squeaks. I look to Tris again and she has the same expression on her face. "Why amity bud?" I ask.

"Sunswine, and appwles." He says and I chuckle lightly. "Sure." I say and he runs out of the room giggling and full of excitement.

"Tobias!" Tris exclaims in a whisper yell, so that Luca doesn't hear her.

"What?" I ask, confused on what I did wrong.

"You can't handle amity!" "Who said I can't?" I ask.

"You. You did when we were last there." She says, her hands on her hips.

"That was because we were staying there and having to do those stupid chores. This is just a visit." I tell her.

She sighs knowing I'm right. "Love you." I say. "Shut up." She says walking into the bathroom, leaving me with a smile planted on my face.

Unknown POV

"Is it ready?" I ask. "It is. Both serums are ready and the lab is set up." He answers back to me. "Good." I say spinning on my heel, and walking towards the door. "We start tomorrow." I add sternly and with that I walk out.
