this short was inspired by the aftermath clip of gwen and duncan on the bridge. it's a little bit all over the place :,)
A couple days after the last challenge came to a close, and the infamous musician, Trent, was voted off after getting caught for rigging the challenges, his apathetic ex girlfriend stood on a nearby bridge with one of her closest friends.
"Is it just me or does that constellation look like Harold's pancake butt?" she asked her close friend, Duncan, pointing up at the stars.
Although she was a bit doleful about her breakup with Trent, Gwen knew it was for the best. Having someone to influence your chance at a million bucks wasn't exactly her cup of tea, and matters only became worse when her ex boyfriend became obsessive over her.
She was aware of what she wanted in a relationship, and she figured out her and Trent weren't meant to be. Even though they shared similar attributions, they were too different which made them ultimately fall apart in the end.
The goth understood Trent's intentions weren't meant to be harmful, but she was still hurt from the lack of communication between them. Yet, she was optimistic that he would at least share a close bond with her still.
However, during the time Trent and her were going through a rough patch, she grew close with Duncan, someone she'd never expected to be friends with. Whenever she was around him, they would have great forms of communication that she wished Trent picked up on. Except for this time.
"With his spaghetti legs attached," Gwen added on to her previous comment, hoping Duncan would say something in response. "See?"
Gwen scrutinized the punk who was lost in his own fantasy, wondering why he hadn't come up with a snide response to the teen's comment like he usually would.
As she narrowed her eyes slightly, the delinquent shifted his arm which was perched against the top of the bridge set, still fixated on the night sky.
"Ugh, I just gave you a perfect set up for a dig and you leave me hanging!?" the goth scoffed, scooting closer to her friend. "What's your damage?"
She grinned at the punk, knowing something frisky was up with him. She couldn't wait to find out what it was.
However, instead of the response Gwen was looking for, Duncan, with lovestruck eyes, asked, "You think Courtney might be looking at the stars now?"
Without hesitation, Gwen made a gagging noise with her mouth.
Of course he's thinking about her right now, she thought to herself, growing a little vexed.
It was safe to say Gwen was a bit jealous of Courtney. Even if she didn't want to admit it, she wanted to be like the prep. Stunning, athletic, full of energy, and an attitude that drives boys like Duncan wild.
She wished Trent would've shown attention to her like what Duncan had been doing with Courtney instead of becoming haunting that freaked the goth out a bit.
Gwen was also upset with the fact that Duncan was thinking about the C.I.T especially since they were hanging out. She wanted someone who brought out the best in Duncan, which Courtney did not do.
She knew the brunette was bad news for him, just like how the last episode of Total Drama Island played out. Although the two seemed very fond of each other, Gwen (and the rest of the cast) also saw how toxic they were. Yet, for some reason, Duncan kept crawling back to her even if he had been trying to distance himself from his former lover.
"Wow, who knew you were such a sucker for the A-type," Gwen laughed out, trying to not let his question bother her, tugging at Duncan's wrist.
He straightened his back with a giant grin, ready to shoot back a remark about his close friend.
"Oh, you wanna make something of it?" he joked, punching Gwen's shoulder.
With a smirk, Gwen held her arm, oblivious to the somewhat hard punch Duncan gave her as her mood elevated.
"Ha, you can do better than that," she responded, lifting up her brow.
Duncan mocked her actions, slowly ambling his way over to her. As he went to shove the goth in retaliation, he lost his balance, causing both teens to let out boisterous laughs as they fell to the ground.
As they cackled on top of each other, they were so lost in the moment that they didn't realize what was happening.
Gwen's eyes managed to travel down to Duncan's lips after she stared at his inviting teal ones for quite some time. The warmth of his hands on her immediately sent fireworks off in her body as she kept her eyes locked to his.
In an instant, Duncan's reality set in and his face soon went blank. As Gwen soon caught onto what was occurring, she copied his actions, completely and utterly ashamed.
The goth couldn't help but notice the close approximation between her lips and Duncan's even as guilt trickled up her skin. Although it was tempting, she pushed him off of her.
Why did that feel exhilarating? she asked herself as a sudden flare of joy overtook her pale and slim body.
"Wanna steal the contestants underwear and hang them on a flag pole?" Gwen suggested, hoping that moment would brush past them and soon be forgotten.
Meanwhile, the delinquent who was still quite stupefied on what exactly happened, sat on the floor.
He didn't want to think much of it, but Duncan did spot Gwen checking him out, and although he didn't want to admit it, he had done the same thing which made him feel perplexed.
Something bloomed inside the punk as those moments replayed in his mind over and over again.
Is it bad to say that I kinda want that to happen again?
When he touched Courtney, he didn't feel the same spark as he did with Gwen. It was different, which let him both intrigued and puzzled.
"Sure," the punk said with a smile, picking himself from off of the ground. "I call hanging up Harold's granny panties!"
After playfully shoving Gwen to the ground, the punk flew past her and towards the direction of the trailers.
"Duncan!" she laughed, jumping up to her feet.
With a broad, radiant smile, the goth chased after her friend, craving the warmth of his big paws on her chest again.
