"So the doubts started from when you found out that my soul had the Perseverance trait?"

"Precisely"

You both were explaining how you fell in love with each other on the couch, his arm around your waist as you put your head on his shoulder, looking at him and listening to what he was saying.

"I...my attacks use the Perseverance trait, and I kinda felt moved by it. My plan was still to take your soul but the good part of my soul refused to do it"

"So you're saying that if I had another soul trait you would have still taken my soul? I'm offended" you said jokingly, puffing your cheeks.

He laughed and looked at you with a cheerful look.

"I would have probably fallen in love with you anyways. You're so pure...and you never ceased to surprise me"

You flushed and looked down, only gaining another laugh from Gaster.

"And, well, you know what happened next: we grew closer, and I couldn't just take your soul. It was wrong in the first place and...I couldn't take the soul of someone who only shined"

You looked at him in astonishment: you also remembered that he mentioned the fact that you shine when talking to the echo flower.

You looked down again in embarassment now, and he noticed.

"Why are you looking away? Is everything okay?"

"I...have a confession to do"

He looked at you a little worried.

"I'm all ears"

You laughed a bit at the pun and started speaking.

"Uh...well...that voice you heard in Waterfall in that secret cave, replying to your speech...it was me"

Gaster coughed as he finished listening, realising you were the one that had listened to his thoughts in Waterfall.

"Are you okay?!" you asked premurously, patting his back as he hit his ribcage with his fist, trying to catch back air.

"IT WAS YOU?!" he asked as his cheeks grew a deep lavender and looked at you.

You blinked a few times and then laughed at the sight: Gaster was hiding his face in his hands but you could still see something through his holes.

"C'mooon, don't hide!" you said teasing, poking his arm.

Just as you were poking him, he grabbed you and embraced you with his arms.

"Well...I also have a confession to do" he said smirking "that kiss before...it wasn't our first.

"...what do you mean it wasn't our first?"

"Yeah well, I kissed you the same day I gained my body back when you were sleeping. I just had realised I love you."
