- Marley's POV -

Ian and I live about 20 minutes apart from one another, so it wasn't long before we got there.

His house was about the same as mine. Big, luxurious and cozy.

"Helloooo!" Is anyone home?" Ian shouted.

I heard little footsteps coming down the hallway and there stood little Riley, Ian's little sister.

" Hi baby!" I squealed, scooping her up.

"Hi Marley." She replied, kissing me on the cheek." I missed you "

"Alright, enough of all of that y'all two." Ian said.

Riley and I gave him a dirty look and walked into the kitchen.

" I hungry. " Riley pouted.

I guess I'll make us three some sandwiches.

- Ian's POV -

I wonder where my dad is. I talked to my mom earlier, she's doing great while in South Africa. I miss her but she'll be home soon- so she promised.

My dad on the other hand, he's been here 24/7 since he works from home. Next week he'll be starting a new job though.

"Hey son, who's downstairs with Riley?" He asked.

"Oh, it's just Mar. You remember her right?"

"Oh yeah! That's my one and only daughter-in-law. I don't care how much you deny it, I know you love her. That's exactly how me and your mom were." My dad went on.

"Okay save the walk down memory lane Dad. Anyway what's up?" I asked.

"Son your mother needs me to fly to South Africa tonight. It's an emergency and the flight leaves in an hour. Can you stay at someone's house- you and Riley?" He explained.

I couldn't quite believe what my dad was telling me. All I could do was stand there in shock.

"Son are you there?" He interrupted my thoughts.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll go run and ask her if it's cool." I quickly left.

"Hey Mar! I have something to ask you." I screamed as I galloped down the stairs.

When I reached the bottom of the staircase, I smelled ham sandwiches. I rushed into the kitchen and there sat Mar and Riley, devouring their meal. She turned around facing me. Mar was the most beautiful human being I've ever laid eyes on. Honestly I only have eyes for her but she doesn't know that- yet.

"Stop staring! Go ahead, spit it out. What's the question?" She asked.

I snapped out of it and asked," Can Riley and I stay over at your place tonight? My dad has business and I hate watching her by myself. I think she needs to spend time with a girl. I can't do all the things she wants to do." I explained.

She laughed and simply said," Okay."

"Okay? That's it." I looked at her sideways.

"Yeah. Come on Riley lets go pack you some clothes. GIRLS DAY- well NIGHT OUT." She grabbed Riley putting her on the floor and running behind her.

I guess I better go pack my clothes too.

Marley's POV

"Little girl you have more clothes than me and my mom put together. And we are shopaholics." I sighed.

" Can I wear this?" Riley asked.

The outfit was hideous. Note to self: never let a toddler pick out an outfit for themselves.

"How about this one?" I asked holding up and pink and cheetah print dress with matching sandals.

She simply nodded so there's one outfit. After about 15 minutes of packing it was time for us to go. I decided to say goodbye to Mr. Williams before we left.

I carried Riley upstairs so she could kiss her dad goodbye.

" Goodnight Mr.Williams!" I said.

"Goodnight Baby. And make sure my little munchkin Riley gets to bed on time. " he laughed.

Riley covered her ears trying to block out what she just heard. I guess that means as soon as she gets to my house it's sleep time.

" Night Dad." Ian said while hugging his dad.

"Be safe!" Mr. Williams said as we got into my car.

I honked the horn as we pulled off. I wonder what tonight has in store.
