** Ian's POV **
"We're here to see Jessica Williams." My dad told the hospital security.
"She's in Room 209." She replied while handing out visitors' passes.
We proceeded to the elevator then headed up the the 2nd floor. Riley immediately shot out of the elevator and ran down the hospital corridors.
"Baby girl, it's this way." My dad shouted at Riley while signaling her to come back.
Before Riley could stop my mother's body guard, Slim, grabbed her and tossed her into the air.
"Hey where you going? Your mom is this way." He asked while walking towards us.
"Wassup boss." Slim said while dapping my dad.
"Hey." He said while nodding at the rest of us.
"How is she doing Slim?" My dad asked while we walked towards the room.
"Great. She's been asking about you. She'll be happy to see you instead of me and Bone's ugly ass." He said while laughing.
"I agree." Marley's mom, Sadé, butted in.
"Hey girl, you know ya boy got game." Slim said while smirking.
"Don't I?" He said while tickling Riley.
"Yes, Uncle Slim, Yes!" Riley screamed while laughing.
We arrived to the room and my dad entered first. My mom's heart rate immediately began racing on the monitor.
"Baby calm down, I'm here." My dad said while easing towards my mother.
Tears immediately began running down her face as she cried softly. She reached up and wrapped her arms around my dad's neck as he kissed her passionately. I loved their relationship; hopefully Marley and I's bond can be this strong.
"I thought I lost you baby." My dad said while stroking my mom's hair.
"I'm here baby, thanks to Marley and Ian. I'm here." She said while smiling and greeting the rest of us.
"Mommy, I want kisses too." Riley said while climbing up in the hospital bed.
"Jealous?" My dad asked while sheltering my mother.
"Move daddy! She's my mommy!" Riley squealed while playfully pushing our dad. The three of them giggled as my dad moved outta the way.
"Hey Sugar." My mom said while kissing Riley.
I felt my dad tap me on the shoulder as he exited the room. I left Marley's side and followed him out into the hallway.
"Son, we have to go handle some business." My dad said lowly.
"What business?" I asked before my dad put his hand up.
"Just come with me and you'll see." He said.
"Can I at least let them know?" I asked.
"Go ahead." My dad said while waving me off.
I reentered into my mother's room and everybody stared at me. What the hell is going on?
"What's up y'all?" I asked.
"Aaliyah and Riley was just telling us a very interesting story." Craig said.
I already know where this was going. I glanced over at Marley and she winked at me. I immediately grinned and turned away from them.
"Hey Craig, come slide with me and my pops really quick." I said.
"Alright, youngin." He relied while standing up.
"We'll be back later girls." I said while walking out.
"Be safe." Both Jessica and Sadé told us.
Craig gave both Marley and Sadé a kiss on the forehead before coming out the room behind me. The three of us left the hospital and hopped into the truck.
"Where are we going pops?" I asked my dad.
"Just chill son, you'll see. Today you're going to get your first experience of this street life." My dad said while grinning.
"Yeah youngin', welcome to the club." Craig said while pounding my fist.
Craig reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a shiny all-black gun. He handed it to my dad, then my dad handed it to me. I've never touched a gun a day in my life.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"Chill, you so damn curious just hold ya horses!" Craig said while laughing.
"Anyway let's have some guy talk until we get to our destination." Craig added.
"Youngin', you've been smashing my step-daughter?" He asked.
I didn't know if I should lie or tell the truth.
"And don't even think about lying to me." Craig added once again; He read my mind.
"Yeah, I mean we done did a little something." I admitted. A smile plastered across my face as a few flashbacks ran through my mind.
"Awww man." My dad said.
"What lil' nigga!" Craig yelled.
"Yo, calm the fuck down Craig. That's still my son back there and I wouldn't think twice about beating your ass over him." My dad said.
"Craig, we love each other. I'll never hurt your daughter. C'mon man." I said.
Craig just glared at me through the rear-view mirror while trying to keep his cool.
"Are y'all using protection?" Craig asked.
I had to lie about this because Craig would really flip then.
"Yeah." I replied.
"Good. I respect that." He said.
"Son, you better be putting in work. That runs in the William's family guys!" My dad joked.
"Yeah pops, you already know how the kid rolls." I said while fumbling with the gun.
"Hey now, you niggas is talking about my daughter here." Craig warned us.
"My bad Craig." I apologized.
The rest of the car ride was filled with conversations of my dad and Craig's old days. They reminisced on how they used to run trains on the neighborhood hoes. They thought back to their senior prom and all of there ex-girlfriends. At the end of it all, when they mentioned their wives their stories changed. Both of them cut off all their hoes and took it slow with them. No wonder they're still together now.
The truck pulled up in front of an old warehouse in the middle of nowhere.
"Alright, let's get this shit done." My dad said while stepping out of the car and heading inside.
I can't lie, I was a little scared but I knew that my father wouldn't put me in harm's way. We walked into the warehouse. It was very dark, empty and musty. My father flipped on the light and there sat a man chained to a pipe. This better not be who I think it is.
