When I Met You (GXG)

PROLOGUE

"Arat inom."

aya ni Carrie na parang tambay sa kanto.

"Come on Lyly it's your birthday, treat me naman!." pagpipilit niya.

"Carrie, it's just Ly, and who the fuck drink this early?" It's 7am in the morning, our duty is over. We're on night shift that's why pauwi na kami ngayon, tapos itong may tama kong kaibigan yayayain agad akong uminom.

"Uhmm.... I guess an intern Doctors like us?" sagot niya na ikinatawa ko naman.

We just graduated last 2 months, I took a break for 1 month bago ako maghanap ng trabaho. So yeah, I'm just very new worker here. So far, working here is great, the atmosphere, the people and the place itself is pleasing.

"Gaga ka ba, kaka advice ko lang sa patient kanina na iwasan ang alak, tapos ito ka ngayon, dinedemonyo ako." I rolled my eyes on her, and then I closed my locker as soon as I am done dressing up.

"Our patient's life and our life is different. Sige na, pumayag ka na pleaseee. Kasi naman my jowa is not answering my calls and texts! Na ghost na ata ako ng putanginang iyon." hinawakan niya ang braso ko at ngumuso na para bang nagmamakaawa.

"I'm sorry for that, but still NO." I said which made her knees weak. Nilampasan ko nalang siya pagkatapos. Naramdaman ko ang paghabol niya sa akin habang papalabas ako.

I actually feel like doing nothing today, I feel like gusto ko nalang kumain ng sinangag na may itlog at hotdog habang humihigop ng kape at pagkatapos ay humiga at matulog.

"Huyyy, okay fine. Mamaya nalang labas tayo? Game ka?" huminga ako ng malalim at pumikit.

"I have plans later with some of my friends, you can come if you want." I told her.

"Di mo naman ako hahayang ma op dun right?" alala niyang tanong. I chuckled because she reminded me of myself when Elijah introduced me into her circle of friends that became mine too.

"Don't worry, I won't. I'll text you the details. Aalis na ako dahil nanghihina na talaga ako." I touched our cheeks together before I departed from her.

Habang naglalakad ako sa ospital ay hindi ko mapigilan ang pagpikit pikit ng aking mata dahil sa antok na aking nararamdaman. Kinurot ko ang aking daliri upang magising ako sa aking sistema.

Tuluyan akong nagising nang naramdaman ko g may nakabangga sa akin, oh shoot. Agad kong pinulot ang mga nahulog na gamit ng nurse na nabangga ko, pagkatapos ay humingi kaagad ako ng tawad. Pagkaalis niya ay napatingin ako sa tapat na lugar kung nasaan ako.

EMERGENCY ROOM

Yesterday, I fought a hard battle. The patient's mother had been on coma for months because of brain tumor. I did everything I could because she's assigned to me. I secure everything, the medication, I also check up on her regularly.

But you don't know when is the critical attack going to happen. I was sleeping at my apartment after my duty, when a call came up. I ran immediately to the Hospital, but then I'm late. I tried my best to rescuscitate the patient as soon as I got into the ER. Her heart stopped, I did my best to make it work. But then I felt a hand in my arm, saying it's enough. Unconsciously, tears dropped from my eyes.

Naalala ko si Mommy G, lola ko. I can still hear the sound of the machines, the voices of the doctors and nurses while trying to save my Lola that time.

shit. stop it mind, please.

"LY!! There you are!" nabalik ako sa aking sistema nang marinig ko na may pamilyar na boses na tumawag sa akin.

It's Luck, an attending here on Hospital. He's also one of my trainor. He was about to touch my shoulder when he came near me but I flinched for a reason that he is aware of.
