CHAPTER 30

Like what Leia advised me to do, I will go to that dinner things that my kuya invited me in. It's been a week but ever since that day in our last game, I haven't talked to her again.

I'm avoiding her.

It's not that I want to, but it feels like I should. Lalo na ngayong nabalitaan ko kay Elijah na malapit na ang kasal niya. Galing akong practice kaya sabi ko kay kuya hahabol nalang ako.

It's already 5:30 pm, 6 ang usapan. Buti nalang ay medyo maaga pa kami pinauwi ni coach. I proceeded taking a bath dahil amoy pawis na ako.

I just wore a simple formal fitted dress because my kuya said so. I was surprised when my phone rings all of a sudden.

It's Sica.

"Hey."

"Uhmm hi, I am here at your house. Outside I mean. Naiwan mo yung mga papers mo, I just thought it is important so dumaan na ako sayo." agad akong napatakbo pababa.

Pinatay ko ang call pagkalabas ko ng bahay at sinalubong siya.

"Oh wow, you look amazing." she complemented.

"Thanks, pupunta kasi ako sa dinner nag friends ni kuya. I was invited so..." paliwanag ko sa kaniya, pero mukhang wala na ata siya sa kondisyon dahil nakatitig nalang siya sa akin.

"Huy, okay ka lang?" sabi ko nagpabalik ng kaniyang konsensya.

"Yeah, it's just that you look so gorgeous." she sincerely complimented again which made me smile.

"Thanks again, that made me confident." I said.

"Uhh, are you going now? Can you drive though? Gusto mo ba sumabay sa akin?" when she suggested that, I think it was a good idea.

"Yeah, I would love that. Okay lang ba sayo? Baka may pupuntahan ka pa?" paninigurado ko.

"Wala naman. Come on, sabay ka na sakin." yaya niya.

"Okay, thanks. And to this papers, also thank you." paulit ulit kong pasasalamat sa kaniya.

WE'VE been exchanging stories while we're on our way. It's feels great and calm to talk with Sica kasi ang komportable niya lang kasama.

"So yeah, my that's my past relationships. And for recent, well you are the most recent that I liked." she continues which made me cleared my throat.

"It's still awkward isn't it?" she asked which made me nod as a response.

Flashbacks in the game last week, I remembered that she saw me and Aiko talking in the locker room. Does she know?

"Uhmm... Sica, I have a question for you." kinakabahan kong banggit. Wala naman sigurong masama kung tatanungin ko ito.

"Do you know something about US?" I looked at her. She looked at me with her brows furrowed, confused. Pero narealize niya din kaagad ang tanong ko nang umiwas siya.

"Kayo ba?"

awts. oo nga pala wala namang naging kami.

"Dalawang salita lang yun pero ang sakit ah." pagbibiro ko na ikinatawa niya naman.

"Oh sorry, I was just asking. Well, I mean nahahalata ko nanaman yun. And it honestly hur- uhm, let's not talk about how I feel." she cleared her throat.

"It's just that I noticed that everytime she's around you, you can't take your eyes off her. It made me so so jealo- ughh, again let's not talk about me. When she needs help, you're always there. When she's hurt, you care for her as if you are the one who's hurt. You care for her more than your self Ly." hindi ko na nakontrol ang pagbilis ng tibok ng aking puso at ang hindi normal na paghinga ko dahil sa sinabi niya.
