Chapter 69

Soon they gave us food but they only gave us one plate half full of food. "One plate?" I said. "I thought they were joking..." Kai said while raising his eyebrow.

"You can have it" I said. "What? no" He said. "Yes I have candy I'm not even hungry right now" I said.

"Really candy?" He said. "Yes snickers" I said. "That's not food" He said. "Yeah it is to me" I said. "Just try some" Kai said while handing me one of the forks.

I took it and was about to eat it but then saw something inside. "What is that?" I asked. "Antibiotics" He said.

"For what?" I asked. "Me I cut myself on accident and they don't want me to die because well if I die there's no more money for them" He said.

"What will happen if our parents stop paying?" I asked. "Do you know what human trafficking is?" He asked.

"no" I said. "Okay well then don't worry" He said while looking to the side. After we finished eating they came in.

I took one of the fork sand put it in my pants. Kai gave me a side glare and the lady looked at us suspiciously.

"What?" She asked. "Nothing" Kai said. "Okay then go to sleep lights off in 15 minutes" She said before leaving.

"What are you doing?" He asked. "Where's the bathroom here?" I asked. "There are guards outside the door that take you to the bathroom" He said.

"Are there camera's in there too?" I asked. "No but if you do something dumb I know that's what they'll do" Kai said.

"You can have the bed since there only one" I said. "No you can" He said. "Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yeah I've had the bed for a long time anyway" He said. "We still have seven minutes till they turn the light off" I said.

"You count the minutes?" He asked. "Yeah can I do your hair?" I asked. "Is it gonna hurt?" He asked.

I shook my head. "I'm gonna braid it" I said. "Okay" He said while turning around. I started braiding his hair and smiled.

"Your hair is so shiny and long" I said. "Well guess the people here didn't like that because the second time I tried to escape they cut all of it off but luckily I quickly grew it back" He said.

"I would die if someone did that to me..." I said. "I just started crying not only because they cut it they purposely made it choppy" Kai said.

"That's full on evil" I said. "Mhm" He hummed. "I'm done!" I said. "Oh" He said while touching his hair.

"Well it feels nice but I can't fully see it" He said while smiling. "Lights off in 5 minutes!" The guard called.

"Okay well I can sleep down here" He said while taking some sheets from under the bed and setting it up.

"Are you sure I mean you were here first" I said. "Exactly I've been on that bed way longer than you just lay down" He said.

I sighed and laid down. "Light's out!" Someone yelled from outside the door. The lights went out but obviously Kalani failed to mention one thing.

There was no other source of light so the room was pitch black. "Kalani!?" I called while feeling around.

"What!? what's wrong!?" He yelled. "It's too dark!" I said. "Oh wait a second I-I'll open the shades" He said.

I couldn't see anything but soon he did open them and the light from the moon came in. "Is it good now?" Kai asked.

I nodded. I laid down and after a while I still couldn't sleep. "Kai are you awake?" I whispered. "Yeah you can't sleep?" He asked.

"Yeah....... can you come up here?" I asked. "What? no I don't think that's a good idea" Kai said. "Why?" I asked.

"I kick people in my sleep" He said. "So do my brother and my cousin so come up here" I said while patting the spot next to me.

He laid down next to me and sighed. "So are you ready to get out of here?" I asked. "Well if we do... would it be wrong if I said that I didn't want to go home?" He asked.

"No because.... I fell that way too" I said. "Why?" He asked. "Because it's my fault" I said. "What is?" He asked.

"That my mom is in the hospital" I said. "You seriously think that... they told me what really happened but you just did what you could" He said.

"Yeah well I think my family hates me especially my brother because I have bruises all over my arms because he hates me" I said while smiling.

"Well I wouldn't go home either..." He said. "So... why don't you want to go back?" I asked. "Because well the night I got kidnapped I ran away too" Kai said.

"We were just all having fun me and my family but I was being a brat because I didn't get what I wanted... My family was joking about what we did in the past and they brought up this embarrassing story and I got so mad that I started yelling at everyone and ran away I left over a stupid joke... I was so ungrateful if anything I'm the worst child anyone could ever have... most of my sibling who are older didn't have the fortune of having a wealthy family I did... so I can't go back they probably hate me" He said.

"Really? they probably miss you so much you were 10 right? so you were just being a dumb kid! I know your family loves you and we will get out of here" I said.

He smiled. "If we escape will you still talk to me?" He asked. I nodded. "I promise we can swap numbers or emails" I said.

"Thanks Y/n" He said before closing his eyes. I smiled and closed my eyes then soon fell asleep. When I woke up it was early and the lights weren't on yet so I woke Kai up.

"I have the plan" I said. "You came up with it in your sleep?" He asked. "Yes" I said. "I'm her sleep okay" He said.

"Is that a problem" I asked. "No" He said. "Yeah that's what I thought" I said.
