Chapter Twenty Two

Artemis’s P.O.V
It was finally the first Hogasmeade weekend and everyone who had their permission forms signed, gathered in the front Courtyard of the school before Professor McGonagall spoke up to everyone, “now, remember, these visits to Hogsmeade village are a privilege. Should your behavior reflect poorly on the school in any way that privilege shall not be extended again. No permission form signed, no visiting the Village. That’s the rule, Potter.” she said as she soon looked at Harry as he ran up to her, “all those with permission, follow me. Those without, stay put.” Mr. Filch said to everyone as everyone else followed him and Ron, Hermione and myself waited to see what Professor McGonagall would say to Harry, “I thought that if you signed it, then I could go.” he explained to her, “I can’t. Only a parent or a guardian can sign. Since I am neither, it would be inappropriate. I’m sorry Potter. That’s my final word.” she said to him before walking away and I felt bad for him that he wasn’t able to come with us, “forget about it guys. See you later.” he said to us and just before he was about to walk back into the Castle, I spoke up, ''Wait, I can bring you back something if you want. Anything and I’ll get it.” I said to him and he smiled a little, “thanks and surprise me.” he said and I smiled a little in return before Hermione, Ron and myself eventually walked over to where the others were before eventually leaving for the Village. By the time we made it to the Village, the three of us walked around and going through the shops and before we left, I had gotten a few things for Harry from Zonko’s Joke Shop and Honeydukes Sweet Shop and after a while longer, we finally headed back to Hogwarts for the day.

By the time we got back to the Castle, I went to look for Harry along with Hermione and Ron before we finally found him before walking into the Great Hall and before we sat down, I had given Harry the things I had gotten for him from Hogsmead, “thanks Artemis.” he said as he took it and I smiled, “no problem.” I said to him before we sat down and I sat down next to Fred and the both of us talked for a while, “did you have fun in Hogsmeade?” he asked me and I smiled and nodded, “yeah, it was brilliant. How about you guys, looks like you guys got some interesting things.” I said to him as he and George played around with something they had gotten, “yeah, we had fun, we were mostly in Zonko's Joke Shop though.” he said and I smiled a little, “well, I’m glad that you guys had fun.” I said to him as he smiled a little when he looked at me and I smiled a little as well and we continued to hang out for a while longer and had a few laughs as well before we had to head to our Common Rooms and when Draco and I made it back to the Slytherin Common Room before we saw Snape standing in front of the door and we all became confused about why before he spoke up after everyone gathered around, “now, the reason as to why I am standing here is because everyone is required to sleep in the Great Hall tonight as Sirius Black has been spotted the Castle and the room will be searched until further notice.” he said to everyone as we all whispered to each other about it before we all went to the Great Hall that night and both Draco and I laid next to each other on the floor in sleeping bags and we both talked about how Sirius Black could have gotten into the Castle, “there’s no way he could have gotten in without anyone seeing him.” I mentioned to Draco as we whispered to each other, “true, but what if there was a way that he could without being seen.” he mentioned and I shrugged a little, “I guess you have a point but there are other ways. What about an Animagus, that coils have been an option but if he was one, he must have been one before he was sent to Azkaban for whatever he did.” I said to him, “that can be an option but who knows at this point about what can happen to be honest.” he said to me and I sighed a little knowing he was right, “I guess you’re right. Anyways let’s just get to sleep for now because this floor is getting uncomfortable and I just want the night to go by quickly so we don’t have to sleep here anymore.” I told him and he just nodded before we both eventually went to sleep for the night. 

It was another day and fall was coming around as leaves were falling from the trees and Draco and I sat next to each other while we sat in Defense Against the Dark Arts and we were both talking and having a few laughs before we heard someone come in and saw that it was Professor Snape and I furrowed my brows a little and began to wonder where Professor Lupin was as Snape walked to the front of the class as he closed the window shutters, “turn to page 394” he said to everyone and we all had done what he asked as we all opened our books and when I got to 394, I saw that it was on Werewolves and I was confused because I know we weren’t supposed to be doing this yet, “bloody hell is he on about. We aren’t supposed to be doing this yet.” I whispered to Draco and he just shrugged, “who knows. Maybe Lupin never told him what we were doing.” he whispered to me before hearing Harry speak up, “Excuse me, sir. Where’s Professor Lupin?” Harry asked him, “that’s not really your concern, is it, Potter? Suffice it to say your Professor finds himself incapable of teaching at the present time. Turn to page 394.” Snape said as he walked to the projector, “Werewolves?” Ron questioned, “but sir, we’ve just begun learning about Red Caps and Hinkypunks. We’re not meant to start Nocturnal Beasts for weeks.” Hermione told him, “quiet. Now, which one of you can tell me the difference between an Animagus and a Werewolf?” Snape asked everyone and both Hermione and I raised our hands and before Snape could say anything to me, Hermione spoke up, “please sir. An Animagus is a Wizard who elects to turn into an Animal. A Werewolf has no choice. With each full moon, when he transforms he no longer remembers who he is. He’d kill his best friend if he crossed his path. Furthermore, the Werewolf only responds to the call of its own kind.” Hermione said to Snape before Draco mocked her and we both chuckled about it as well little, “thank you Mr. Malfoy. That is the second time you have spoken out of range Miss. Granger and if you hadn’t noticed, you weren’t the only one to raise your hand. Are you incapable of restraining yourself or do you take pride in being an insufferable know it all? 5 points from Gryffindor. As an antidote to your ignorance, and on my desk by Monday morning, two rolls of parchment on the Werewolf, with particular emphasis on recognizing it.” Snape said and everyone groaned and complained about it, “but sir, it’s Quidditch tomorrow.” Harry mentioned to Snape, “then I suggest you take extra care, Mr. Potter. Loss of limb will not excuse you. Page 394.” Snape said to Harry and I smirked a little as Snape continued with the class as Harry opened the note Draco had given him.

After classes were over for the day, I had gone to the Library to do my Homework and did what Snape had asked us to do in Defense Against the Dark Arts and after a while, I noticed someone sit down next to me and looked to see that it was Fred and I smiled a little, “hey, how are you doing?” he asked me and I shrugged a little, “I’m doing alright. Just getting some homework done. How about you? How are your classes going?” I said to him and he shrugged a little too, “that’s good and pretty much the same. And my classes are doing alright.” he said to me and the both of us continued to talk for a while as I got some more of my work done before the both of us had eventually left the Library and he continued to make me laugh before we made it back to my Common Room and I let out a sigh as I didn’t want to stop talking with him, “well, I guess I’ll see you later.” he said and I nodded and smiled a little, “see you later.” I said to him as he smiled as well before we both hugged before he left before I said the password before it opened and I walked inside and went to my dorm to put my things away before heading back down and hanging out with Draco and the others, “how’s the arm?” Draco asked me and I sighed a little but I was glad knowing that Slytherin wasn’t playing tomorrow for Quidditch, “it’s getting better. I should have this off soon though.” I told him as we continued to talk for a while longer before heading down to the Great Hall for dinner. 

After dinner was over that night, I had decided to go for a walk and ended up in the Astronomy Tower and looked at the stars before I heard footsteps and looked to see that it was Fred and I smiled a little, “what are you doing here?” I asked him, “I followed you and wanted to know if everything was alright,” he said and I blushed a little, “well thanks for checking up on me if that’s what you’re doing, thanks for that but I’m fine. I just wanted to get some air and look at the stars.” I said to him as he sat down next to me, “I hope you don’t mind if I join you then?” he asked and I smiled, “that’s fine with me.” I said to him before we continued to sit there in comfortable silence for a while not realizing that I had eventually fallen asleep with my head on his shoulder until he had woken me up, “oh, I’m sorry. I hope that didn’t bother you.” I said to him and he chuckled a little, “it’s fine, it was rather cute to be honest.” he said, causing me to blush a little before realizing that we should probably get going, “we should probably get back to our Common Rooms before we’re caught.” I said to him and he nodded and the both of us got up and he had brought me back to my Common Room, “see you later.” I said to him, “see you tomorrow.” he said before walking away and I had walked into the Common Room with a smile on my face as I made my way to my dorm before eventually going to bed for the night.
