Chapter Forty Nine

Artemis’s P.O.V
After everything was over, we managed to get back to the school and Madam Pomfrey and a few other nurses checked on all of us to make sure that we were alright and I sat on one of the beds thinking to myself before I felt someone sit down next to me but I didn’t move, “how are you feeling love?” I heard Fred ask me and all I did was hug him tightly and felt him hug me back, “I’m scared.” was all I said to him as I felt myself begin to cry a little, “everything will be alright love. I’ll make sure nothing bad ever happens to you. I’ll protect you with my life and I know Draco would do the same. Do you understand?” He said to me and I nodded a little before hearing someone rush into the room and I looked to see that it was Draco as he soon came to me, “how are you doing?” he asked me and I shrugged a little, “could be better.” I told him as he sat down on the other side of me, “I Dumbledore told me what happened when he came back.” he said to me and I nodded and I was soon told that I was able to leave whenever I was ready and myself, Draco and Fred soon left the Hospital Wing, “do you guys want to be alone?” Draco asked me and I nodded, “if you don’t mind.” I said to him and he nodded, “that’s fine with me. We can talk if you want when you get back to the Common Room alright.” he said and I nodded, “alright.” I said and we hugged each other before walking away and both Fred and I ended up in the Astronomy Tower and we talked for a while as I told him everything that had happened at the Ministry before I started to feel tired, “do you want to go to your Common Room?” he asked and I nodded, “yeah.” I said to him and felt him kiss the top of my head, “let’s go then.” he said as I grabbed his hand and the both of us left the Astronomy Tower and made our way to the Slytherin Common Room and we soon Hugged each other, “I forgot this is your last year here.” I told him as we moved away from the hug, “yeah, it is. But I promise to write to you when I can alright and I hope to see you for Christmas.” he said and I smiled a little, “we’ll see what happens.” I told him and he nodded before we shared a passionate kiss and after a while, we broke away from the kiss and rested our foreheads together, “I’ll see you later and write to me during the summer alright.” he said and I nodded, “I will.” I said before we said goodnight and I soon made it into the Common Room to see Draco sitting on the couch as he turned to face me before standing up and walking over to me, “do you still want to talk about it?” he asked me and I shook my head, “can we talk about it when we get home. I’m tired right now.” I told him and he nodded, “yeah for sure.” he said before hugging me and I hugged back before the both of us had gone to our dorms for the rest of the night and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell into a deep sleep.

It was the last night at Hogwarts and I was walking with Harry as I wanted to make sure that he was doing alright until we noticed Luna as she was putting something on the walls, “how come you’re not at the feast?” Harry asked her, “yeah, is everything alright?” I asked her, “I lost all of my possessions. Apparently people have been hiding them.” she told us, “that’s awful.” Harry told her, “oh, it’s all good fun. But as it’s the last night, I really do need them back.” She told us, “Do you want any help finding them?” Harry asked, “yeah. It will be a lot quicker having help.” I told her, “I’m sorry about your Godfather, Harry.” Luna said to him, “Are you sure you don’t want any help looking?” Harry asked her, “That's alright. Anyway, my mum always said the things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end. If not always in the way we expect. I think I’ll just go have some pudding.” Luna said as we found her shoes hanging from something before she skipped away, "we should probably get to the Great Hall too.” I said to Harry, “yeah. Lets go.” he said and the both of us made it to the Great Hall and sat with our houses and ate the food that was on the tables. When the next day came around, it was the last day here at Hogwarts before the Summer Holiday and I was in my dorm packing my things and making sure that I had everything before looking at the picture that Fred had given me of the both of us at the Yule Ball causing me to smile to myself, “see you soon my love.” I said to myself before putting the picture in my trunk and made my way downstairs and both Draco and I left the Common Room with Crabbe and Goyal and eventually left the school after leaving our things to be brought to the train and made our way there and after everyone got on the train, we soon left and throughout the entire train ride back to London, the four of us talked the entire time.

By the time we got to Kings Cross, Draco and I saw that it was only mum that was waiting for us as we walked up to her, “there’s something we need to talk about when we get home.” was all she said before we had done so and eventually got home before she had us sit down in the main room, “something has happened to your father. He has been sent to Azkaban for something that had happened at the Ministry.” she told us and I sat there speechless knowing I had a part in that happening to father, “do they know what happened?” Draco asked her and it took her a minute to find the words before speaking up, “they say he had a part in what Voldemort was doing.” She answered his question and I just stood up and went right to my room and began to think about everything as I curled myself on the bed before hearing someone walk into my room and felt them sit down on the bed, “what’s wrong Arty?” I heard Draco ask me and I turned to face him and it took me a minute to think about whether or not I should tell him about what happened before finally speaking up and told him everything that happened at the Ministry the other day. After a moment of silence, Draco finally spoke up, “so you’re telling the truth about all of this, about fighting Voldemort and father being one of his Death Eaters?” he asked and I nodded and he sighed a little, “well, I know it’s not your fault that father was sent to Azkaban and I know he wouldn’t blame you either. He may not show it as often as we want him to, but You and I both know he would have done it in a heartbeat for either of us no matter what happened” he told me as I sat up and hugged him before hearing someone knock on the door, “love, it’s just me. Can I come in?” we heard mother ask, “yeah you can come in mum.” I said to her and she opened the door and walked in with something in her hand, “let me guess, Hot Chocolate?” Draco asked and I chuckled a little, “yeah” mother said to him as she gave it to me, “I remember it always cheered you up when you were given Hot Chocolate.” Draco said and I chuckled a little before taking a sip of it, “it still does.” I said to him before we talked about everything for a while before they both left my room so that I can unpack my things.

It had been a few weeks since summer had started and mother had been rather busy until today when she wanted to talk to us about something as we followed her to father’s study, “is everything alright mum?” I asked her wondering and she let out a sigh, “it’s about the Dark Lord, but before I say anything, I want you to know that I tried to reason with him about this, I promise the both of you that I tried.” she began to say to us, “mother, what are you talking about?” Draco asked her, “He wants to give the both of you the mark.” she said to us and I stood there in shock before finding the words, “you’re bloody joking?” I asked her and she shook her head and I had to sit down as I tried to process it all, “he’s waiting for you both in the main hall.” she told us, “what?” Draco and I both asked her, “I promise you both that I tried to get him not to give it to you, you have to believe me, I was just as shocked as you both are now.” she told us and after a while the three of us made it to the main hall to see Voldemort standing there before he had a smile on his face, “ah, there you both are. I presume your mother has told you about what is to happen.” he said to us and we both nodded, “yes, she has.” Draco told him before he snatched Draco’s arm first before pressing the tip of his wand on his forearm and the Dark Mark began to appear on it and once he was done, he had done the same to me as I began to feel pain shoot along my arm and I tried my best to contain that pain as well before he was finished, “I am glad you are both able to officially join and become a Death Eater.” he said before he eventually left our home.

Later on, I walked outside as I began to hyperventilate before letting out a scream and falling to my knees not realizing that my power came from me until I felt slightly weak as I began to cry before I felt someone hold me close to them as they tried comforting me. After a while, I began to calm down and I looked to see that it was Draco that was hugging me, “why us? I don’t want to be a Death Eater” I questioned, “I don’t know Arty and neither do I.” he told me as he continued to hug me and eventually, the both of us had gone back inside the house before mother came rushing to us, “I felt what happened, are you alright darling?” she asked me and I didn’t say anything, “I don’t think she wants to talk about it to be honest. She doesn’t want this.” Draco told her, “I know, but none of us had a choice in this.” she said and I soon walked away and made it to my room for the rest of the night not wanting to leave it for the rest of the summer until School starts back up again.
