Chapter Forty Five

Artemis’s P.O.V
Christmas was just around the corner and like the past month or so, we were still going to the Room of Requirement as there was now a large tree we had decorated before hand in the room as we continued what we have always been doing until Neville was able to successfully disarm Parvati and everyone congratulated him on it as well and I smiled a little, glad that he was finally able to get it. Later on, when the lesson was over for the day, we all gathered around as Harry spoke to everyone, “so that’s it for this lesson. Now, we’re not gonna be meeting again until after the Holidays. So just keep practicing on your own as best you can. And well done, everyone. Great, Great work.” Harry said to everyone and we all clapped before we all grabbed our things before we soon began to leave he Room of Requirement and him and George walked up to Harry and began to talk to him about what to do about Umbridge, “we’ve been thinking Harry” “we could always slip Umbridge some Puking Pastilles into her tea.” “or Fever Fudge . they give you massive, pus-filled boils-” they both started saying before Harry cut them off, “sounds great guys. Would you excuse me?” he said to them before Harry walked past and the three of us walked toward the door, “you do realize he has a thing for Cho.” I said to them, “yeah.” they both said as we made sure no one was around when we left the Room of Requirement and I spent the rest of the day with Fred in the Astronomy Tower before we both decided to go back to our Common Rooms for the night and by the time I walked into the Slytherin Common Room, I went to hang out with Draco as I sat down next to him on the couch, “I want to ask you something and please be honest.” he said to me and I furrowed my brows a little hoping that he doesn’t ask about the Room of Requirement, “where have you been going after classes? Because ever since, Crabbe, Goyal and myself have joined the Inquisitorial Squad, we’ve been helping Mr. Filch with investigating what’s been going on in a room where some of the other students have been going.” he said to me and I sat there and for a moment, I didn’t know what to say at first before finally coming up with something, “I’ve been spending most of my time with Fred, we’ve also done our homework together in the Library after classes as well most of them time and to be honest, I don’t know what’s going on.” I told him and he just looked at me for a moment before nodding and we continued to hang out for a while longer before we decided to go to bed for the night.

When the next day came around, I was in the Great Hall with Draco having Breakfast before going to classes for the day and about half way through, the Owls started flying in and started dropping mail for everyone who received it and one landed in front of me and I picked it up confused before realizing that it was Fred’s writing and began to open it to and once I got the letter out of the envelope, I began to read what he said.

Dear Artemis

I’m sorry that I’m not going to be at school today and won’t be until classes start up again either because something has happened to my father the night before and we were told that Harry has had a dream about the attack as well and we were told that my father has been sent to St. Mungos for the time being. Before all of this happened, I had asked your brother to put your gift under the tree in your Common Room so when you get the chance, you can open it whenever you can. I will see you soon darling and I love you.

By the time I had finished reading Freddie’s letter, I felt bad for him as I planned on sending him his gifts before we left tomorrow for the Holiday Break and I have decided that once classes were over later, I was going to write him a letter to send with his Christmas gifts as well and once I put it away, I finished eating and both Draco and I had left the Great Hall and went to our first class of the day and I noticed Harry and I walked up to him to see if he was alright, “hey, Freddie told me what happened. How are you doing?” I said to him and he shrugged a little, “I’m doing alright I guess.” he said and I sighed a little, “well if you need anything, I’m always here along with Hermione and Ron and the other’s.” I told him and he nodded a little, “thanks.” was all he said before we made it to Defense Against the Dark Arts class and when the class was finally over later on, we continued on with our day before the day was over and began to write a letter for Freddie that I plan on sending tomorrow with his Christmas presents before we leave for the Holidays.
