Chapter Forty Two

Artemis’s P.O.V
It was another day and the weather was getting colder outside and I was sitting in the Great Hall with Draco as we ate breakfast and the both of us talked about a lot of things before hearing something from outside the Hall and I went to go see what was going on along with some of the others before seeing Professor McGonagall and Professor Umbridge arguing with each other, “I am merely requesting that when it comes to my students, you conform to the prescribed disciplinary practices.” Professor McGonagall said to Umbridge, “So silly of me, but it sounds as if you’re questioning my authority in my own classroom, Minerva.” Umbridge said, taking a step up the stairs, “not at all, Dolores, merely your medieval methods.” Professor McGonagall said, “I am sorry, dear. But to question my practice is to question the Ministry and by extension, the Minister himself. I am a tolerant woman but the one thing I will not stand for is disloyalty.” Umbridge said to Professor McGonagall, “Disloyalty.” Professor McGonagall repeated, “things at Hogwarts are far worse than I feared. Cornelius will want to take Immediate action.” Umbridge said as she faced everyone else before eventually walking away, “this hag has the nerve doesn’t she. We have to do something.” I said to Harry, Ron and Hermione, “she’s right. We have to do something, otherwise Umbridge is going to change everything and make everyone miserable.” Hermione said to Harry and Ron before we made it back into the Great Hall and finished eating before going to our first class of the day and as time went on, Professor Umbridge was wandering the school changing everything and making everyone’s lives at Hogwarts Miserable and interviewing the teachers as she asked them questions about their positions as well and one day, I was outside with Fred and George as others gathered around as well as the twins fooled around a little before Umbridge stopped it and we all just looked at her as she soon walked away and I walked up to Fred and held his hand, “have you guys tried doing anything to her yet?” I asked them wondering, “we’ve been thinking about it.” Fred said as I looked up at him to see him looking down at me and I smirked a little, “better make it sooner rather than later.” I said to him and he smirked a little before looking at George as the three of us made it inside, “I couldn’t agree with you more Malfoy.” George said to me and I chuckled a little and as usual, both Fred and I made it to the Astronomy Tower for a while since no one rarely ever came up here except for classes as it has now become our hiding spot from Umbridge, “do you believe Harry about Voldemort?” I asked Fred as we sat there looking out at the view in front of us “yeah, I do believe him. Do you?” he said to me and I nodded, “yeah. Especially when he said my father was there the night Cedric was killed. I never knew he was a Death Eater until now. And now that Voldemort apparently wants me for what I am. It scares me, Freddie. I don’t want Voldemort to take me away, especially from you.” I said to him as my worry about it grew, “I will make sure nothing bad ever happens to you. I will protect you with my life from Voldemort. I promise you that alright. I love you too much to let you go now Artemis.” he said as I felt a tear fall down my cheek before he kissed me and the passion of it grew within a few seconds and before anything got to far, we both broke away from the kiss and rested our foreheads together, “I love you to Freddie.” I managed to say to him before we continued to sit there for a while longer in silence before we both decided to leave.

One day, I noticed everyone was gathering somewhere and I walked up to Harry to see if he knew anything about what’s going on, “Harry. Do you know what’s going on?” I asked him, “no I don’t. There’s Cho, maybe we can ask her.” he said before we walked up to her, “Cho. what’s going on?” he asked her, “it’s Professor Trelawney.” she said before walking ahead and Harry and I just looked at each other before following the others, “this isn’t good. I bet Umbridge has something to do with it.” I mentioned to Harry as we saw Professor Trelawney standing in the middle of the Court Yard before seeing Umbridge walk out and to Professor Trelawey, “16 years I’ve lived and taught here. Hogwarts is my home. You can’t do this.” Professor Trelawey said to Umbridge, “Actually, I can.” Umbridge said as she held up something, “actually, she can’t.” I whispered to Harry and I felt bad for Professor Trelawney and I decided to walk up to her to make sure she was alright before seeing Professor McGonagall had done the same, “something the both of you would like to say, dear?” Umbridge asked us, “oh, there are several things I would like to say.” Professor McGonagall said, “when my father finds out, who do you think the Minister will believe then, because I have high hopes that it won’t be you.” I told her before hearing the doors open and saw Dumbledore walk out Professor McGonagall, Artemis, might I ask the both of you to escort Sybil back inside?” he asked us and I said nothing but nodded and Professor Trelawney thanked Dumbledore as we walked past him and managed to walk back into the Castle, “everything will be alright Professor. I’m sure Dumbledore will figure something out. I hope.” I said to Professor Trelawney, “thank you dear. Thank you.” she said and I smiled a little as we made it to her classroom and made sure that she was alright before Professor McGonagall spoke up, “you may go Artemis. I will take care of Professor Trelawney. That was a very kind thing you did out there.” she said and I smiled and nodded before leaving the room and went on with my day as I had gone to my classes as the day went by. When the day was over, I had gone straight to my dorm, just wanting to be alone before seeing something on my bed and saw that it was a letter and I soon grabbed it before opening it and began to read it.

Dear Artemis,

I am writing to you because I am sure you want to know about what's been going on recently since we last saw each other before school started and Harry will also be notified as well about the situation that’s going on here in the Order. I want to let you know that everything within the Order isn’t exactly going as planned. The reason why you may not be using Magic is because Fudge doesn’t want you trained in combat. He also thinks that Dumbledore may be assembling his own forces forming to take on the Ministry as well. Fudge has also been blocking the truth left and right and that is why things haven’t been going well with the Order like I said before and the disappearances are just how it started before. I know your parent’s wouldn’t want you knowing this but, Voldemort wants you for your newfound abilities, he knows you will become stronger than any other Witch or Wizard out there and is hoping to use you to get to Harry or anyone else, but I know for sure you won’t do such a thing as both you and Harry have become friends within the last few years. Once your powers manifest, be mindful and careful when you use them, you aren’t the first in our family to have such abilities. Every hundred years, someone will have the same powers as you do now. It won’t be easy to control as it will take time as it also comes out most through emotions as to why you fainted on the first day of classes. Remember what I said and be safe.

By the time I finished reading the letter from Sirius, I thought about what he said and decided to talk to Harry to see if he had talked to him yet about anything and I found him along with Ron and Hermione as they were walking through the halls and soon caught up with them, “hey. Harry.” I said as they soon stopped walking, “what’s up?” Harry asked, “have you talked with Sirius yet?” I asked, wanting to make sure, “not yet. Why?” he said, “alright well, I just want to let you know that he might at some point tonight so keep a look out or something.” I told him and he nodded, “I’m assuming you got something from him?” he asked and I nodded, “yeah I did. But It was mostly about my powers really but he also mentioned the Order and what not as well and that he might tell you about it when he does contact you somehow.” I told him, “alright. Thanks for letting me know.” he said and I smiled a little, “no problem. Good night.” I said as we waved goodbye and I soon went back to the Slytherin Common Room for the rest of the night as I hung out with Draco, Crabbe and Goyle for a while before I got tired and decided to go to my Dorm and got changed into something comfortable before going to bed and fell asleep thinking about Fred
