Chapter Twenty Seven

Artemis’s P.O.V
Harry was finally waking up from whatever happened to him after he ran after Sirius, “I saw my dad.” Harry said to us, “what?” Hermione and I asked, “he sent the Dementors away. I saw him across the lake.” he told us and I furrowed my brows in confusion, “how? That’s impossible. I thought he was dead.” I said to him, “Anyways, listen Harry, they’ve captured Sirius. Any minute the Dementors are going to perform the kiss.” Hermione told him, “you mean, they’re going to kill him?” Harry asked us as he quickly got out of bed, “No. It's worse. Much worse. They’re going to suck out his soul.” Hermione said to him, “that’s still killing him if they’re gonna suck it out of him.” I mentioned to Hermione before seeing Dumbledore walk into the Hospital Wing, “Headmaster, you’ve got to stop them. They’ve got the wrong man.” Hermione told him, “it’s true sir. Sirius is innocent.” Harry told him, “It's Scabbers who did it.” Ron told him, “Scabbers?” Dumbledore questioned, “he’s my Rat sir. He’s not really a rat. Well he was a rat. He was my brother Percy’s rat. But then they gave him an owl-” Ron began to say before Hermione cut him off, “the point is, we know the truth. Please believe us.” Hermione said to Dumbledore, “I do Miss. Granger. But I’m sorry to say the word of four 13 year old Wizards will convince a few others. A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who’ve forgotten how to listen.” Dumbledore said as he walked over to Ron and tapped his ankle a few times causing me to wince a little before Dumbledore began to speak again, “Mysterious thing, time. Powerful and when meddled with, dangerous. Sirius Black is in the top most cell of the Dark Tower. You know the Laws Miss Granger. You must not be seen. And you would do well, I feel, to return before this last chime. If not, the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight,  more than one innocent life may be spared. Three turns should do it, I think.” Dumbledore said before walking away and before he closed the doors, he spoke up again, “oh, by the way. When in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck.” he said before leaving, “what’s he talking about Hermione?” I asked her, “What the bloody hell was that all about?” Ron asked wondering, “sorry, Ron, but seeing as you can’t walk.” Hermione said to him before putting something around our necks and we soon went back in time, “what just happened?” Harry asked, “I think we just went back in time.” I told him before Hermione spoke up, “7:30. Where were we at 7:30?” Hermione asked us, “I don’t know. Going to Hagrid’s” Harry told her before she grabbed both of our arms, “come one, and we can’t be seen.” she said before we rushed off.

After a while we managed to stop running and hid as we noticed ourselves and Ron with Draco and his friends, “that’s us. This is not normal.” Harry said and Hermione moved him aside, “this is a Time-Turner, Harry. McGonagall gave it to me first term. This is how I’ve been getting to my lessons all year.” Hermione told him, “you mean what Artemis said was true, we’ve gone back in time?” Harry said to her, “yes. Dumbledore obviously wanted us to return to this moment. Clearly something happened He wants us to change.” Hermione said, “do you think it has anything to do with Buckbeak?” I asked her, “possibly” she said as we watched and waited, “good punch.” Harry said to her, “thanks.” she said, “I’ve been wanting to do that since we were kids.” I mentioned to them chuckling a little before we saw them rushing in our direction, “Malfoy’s coming.” she said and we hid so that they didn’t see us and we moved for us to see and soon saw us run off to Hagrids and waited, “look. Buckbeak's still alive.” Harry mentioned, “of course. Remember what Dumbledore said? If we succeed, more than one innocent life could be spared. And Artemis mentioned Buckbeak a moment ago, why didn’t I put it together.” she said to us before we eventually made it to Hagrids and hid behind the Pumpkin Patch and not long after, we heard something and saw the Minister and the Executioner with Dumbledore, “here they come. I’d better hurry.” Harry said and just as he was getting up, both Hermione and I pulled him back down, “Fudge has to see Buckbeak before we steal him. Otherwise he’ll think Hagrid set him free.” Hermione told him, “she’s right and they might do something about Hagrid if we take him now.” I said to him before we saw Scabbers, “that’s Pettigrew.” he said and Hermione held him back, “Harry, you can’t.” she told him, “Hermione, that’s the man who betrayed my parents. You don’t expect me to just sit here.” Harry said as he tried to get to Pettigrew, “yes and you must.” Hermione told him before we moved a little, “she’s right Harry and that doesn’t matter right now. If we’re seen, we screw this whole thing up. Do you understand?” I told him, “Harry, you’re in Hagrid's hut now. Artemis is right, if you just go bursting in, you’ll think you’ve gone mad. Awful things happen to Wizards who meddle with time, Harry. We can’t be seen.” She told him before we began to hear Dumbledore and the Minister again before looking back to see that we weren’t leaving, “Fudge is coming and We aren’t leaving.” Hermione said before I noticed the rock and showed it to Hermione and we both smirked at each other before I threw it, “are you mad?” Harry asked as we hid, “yeah, a little bit.” I whispered to him before Hermione found another and threw it and it hit the back of Harry’s head, “that hurt'' Harry told her and I chuckled a little, “sorry.” she said to him before we continued to wait and watch before we noticed ourselves coming out the back door, “we’re coming out the back door. Go.” Hermione said to us and we rushed and hid behind the trees, “is that really what my hair looks like from the back?” Hermione asked, “why, does it look bad or something?” I asked her before something snapped and we hid again before eventually hearing ourselves run off and we came out from the trees, “ok, go, Harry. Go. Artemis help him.” she said and both Harry and I went over to Buckbeak and managed to get the chain just before we noticed the door open and close, “ok, Buckbeak. Come quickly. Come with us now. Come on.” Harry said to it and since he wasn’t getting up I started to think before I thought of the Ferrets, “Hermione, get the Ferrets. They should be hanging somewhere.” I told her before she rushed off to get them as I continued to help Harry, “come on Buckbeak please.” I said to him before Hermione came back and held the Ferret toward Buckbeak, “come and get the nice dead Ferret.” she said and Buckbeak finally got up and we eventually got Buckbeak to follow us into the trees until we saw Dumbledore walk out with the Minister and we finally got Buckbeak away and out of sight.

We rushed through the forest until we finally stopped, “now what?” Harry asked, “We save Sirius.” Hermione told him, “how?” He asked as he and Hermione made their way up the hill and I stayed with Buckbeak and he let me pet him as it caused me to smile, “good boy Buckbeak.” I said to him before bats came flying through and Buckbeak tried to catch them as I took a step back and laughed a little as he jumped around until they were gone, “I bet you liked that didn’t you?” I said to him chuckling a little before hearing my name being called, “Artemis.” Hermione said and I rushed over to see what was going on only to see everything that had happened before with Lupin, “what do we do?” I asked them, “let’s go” Harry said and both Hermione and I followed him as we ran only to soon see Harry throw a rock at Lupin's wolf form and before it could do anything, Hermione began to howl at him, “are you mad?” I asked her, “what are you doing?” Harry asked her, “saving your life” she said before doing it again, “thanks” Harry said before seeing it come toward us, “great, now he’s coming for us.” Harry said, “no kidding. Very noticeable.” I said to Harry, “yeah, didn’t think about that.” Hermione said to him, “then we run and hide somewhere.” I said before we had done so and eventually hid behind a tree and tried to stay out of view but when we tried to get away, I noticed Lupin’s wolf form see us before I tugged on Hermione’s sweater before she saw to but before it could do anything, Buckbeak got in between us and the wolf and Buckbeak managed to get Lupin to run off, “poor professor Lupin’s having a tough night.” Harry said to us, “can’t imagine how he manages to do this every month. I feel bad for him.” I said to them before we noticed the Dementors in the sky, “Sirius. Come on.” Harry said before we ran off before we finally found him and saw that past Harry was with him as well as they were both being attacked by the Dementors, “what now? We can’t just sit here and wait.” I said to them, “she’s right. This is horrible.” Hermione said to us, “don’t worry. My dad will come. He’ll conjure the Patronus.” Harry said and Hermione and I just looked at each other, “Harry, are you sure it was your dad that did it?” I asked him after a moment of waiting, “any minute now. Right there, you’ll see.” Harry said, “Harry listen to me. Artemis might have a point, no one’s coming.” Hermione told him, “don’t worry, he will. He will come.” Harry said, “you’re dying. Both of you.” Hermione pointed out before Harry rushed to where he saw the Patronus before conjuring his own, sending the Dementors off, “bloody brilliant.” I said to them and we eventually made it back to Buckbeak.
