The sound of the front door opening and closing behind Nayeon made you lift your gaze from your hand, where you once held the diamond ring you got for her as you tried to rehearse your speech again and again so you wouldn't forget anything.

Hearing her call out for you, followed by the sound of her footsteps on the stairs, you slipped the ring into your back pocket and stared at the door.

It was only open a crack, this way when she opened it and entered, she'd be as surprised as possible.

"Y/N? Babe, are you here?" She asked as she reached the bedroom door.

It creaked slightly as she pushed it open before a gasp fell from her lips.

She was in awe over the sight of the balloons across the room, as well as photos of you together over the years.

They were hung up all over the walls and she took each step slowly so she could get a good glimpse of every single one.

"This is amazing." She said as she looked all across the room before looking at you. "You did this by yourself?"

"I actually had a little help from Chaeyoung and Tzuyu. It would've been a lot to do by myself." You chuckled.

"They were here? The girls told me they were sick."

"I know. I told them to." You said and held your hand out for her to take, which she happily did.

You pulled her closer before kissing her lips.

You gazed into her starry eyes as it sank in that the kiss you just shared might be your last as only girlfriends and the next one you share could be the first as a happily engaged couple; the thought made your heart race.

"I was thinking we could order some dinner after this. I got some champagne, so we can celebrate with that."

"Celebrate?" She chuckled. "Celebrate what?"

You lowered your head, a big grin tugging at your lips despite the growing nerves you felt.

"Y/N? What are you up to?"

You looked back up at her and saw the sparkle in those beautiful brown eyes of hers. They take your breath away, always.

All these years later that you've spent together, it still makes your heart skip a beat when you see the adoring gaze in her eyes.

It's the only way that she looks at you; with love, only love.

Everyone can see it.

Knowing that you're the one for each other, everyone has asked you when this day would come, and as nervous as you felt about it, you weren't going to chicken out.

You were doing this.

"There's something I want to ask you."

"Okay, my love. I'm listening."

You took a deep breath before you gently laid one of your hands on her cheek.

"I'm in love with you, Nayeon. So, so in love with you. I never thought I could ever love someone as much as I love you."

She smiled and parted her lips to repeat the words back to her, but you shook your head to stop her.

"You know how every holiday, whether we spend it with your family or mine, everyone asks us when one of us is going to propose to the other or when our wedding will be and we never give them an answer because we just didn't know? I want that to change."

She was starting to catch on now, her heart hammering against her chest in excitement.

"I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to be able to love you and to be loved by you. It's amazing and I'm so incredibly lucky to be able to call you my girlfriend. But I don't want that anymore. I want you to be my wife."

With shaking hands, you reached into your pocket and pulled out the ring, causing her to gasp as she saw how stunning it was.

"So, Nayeon, my love, will you marry me?" You asked as you got down on one knee in front of her.

"Yes!" She grinned through the tears of happiness in her eyes.

Standing up, you were pulled into a passionate kiss right away.

You wanted to wrap your arms around her and pull her closer, but you still had the ring in your hand and you didn't want to drop it or lose it.

So you pulled away and took her hand into yours.

Giving it a kiss as you stared into her eyes, you slipped the ring onto her finger before she pulled you in for another kiss.

"This is the best day ever!" She sniffled. "I'm so in love with you, y/n. I can't wait for us to get married. I can't wait to be your wife."

It felt so surreal to hear her say those words, but in the best way.

"I can't wait either, baby. I've never been so happy. I'm so in love with you," you said as she cupped your cheeks, her thumbs brushing across your skin as she kissed you again.

You couldn't help but smile against each other's lips, so happy that words couldn't express it.

Your future together is bright and you're looking forward to every second of it spent with Nayeon.
