surprising her during her solo promotion (requested)

As soon as the show ended, Nayeon walked down the Inkigayo hall to her dressing room with all of her dancers following her.

She feels as though she's on cloud nine over the love and success she's getting from her solo debut.

It feels so surreal, bringing her an immense and endless amount of happiness to see all of her hard work pay off and be so incredibly loved and appreciated.

"Nayeon?" One of her dancers said as Nayeon stepped into her dressing room. "We know you're going to take pictures soon. Can we have some with you?"

As if she'd ever refuse.

"Of course!" Nayeon happily agreed. "Can I just have one moment?"

The dancers all gave her a little space and privacy as Nayeon thanked them all for their dedication and hard work as she closed her door a bit, leaving it open only a crack.

She sat down in front of the vanity and sighed to herself before reaching for her phone.

There's one thing missing.

The one thing that would make today even more special.

You.

You had commitments that you couldn't get out of, which Nayeon completely understood.

However, it's hitting her hard that out of all the smiling faces and kind people congratulating her, you're not one of them.

It's not that you're unsupportive. You've repeatedly told her how proud of her you are. You're her biggest fan. No one is prouder or happier for her than you are.

But, nonetheless, she misses you and wishes that you were here.

She unlocked her phone and sent you a quick text but after waiting a moment without any response, she chose to call you.

But it went straight to voicemail.

She set her phone down, a sad sigh falling from her lips as she toyed with the hem of her outfit, getting lost in her thoughts.

The knock on her dressing room door startled her, causing a gasp to fall from her lips.

"One second!"

But the door opened without her saying it was okay and she didn't want to be rude.

She never wanted to be rude.

So she put on her best smile and stood up.

She turned to see someone in the doorway with their hood pulled over their head, eyes down on the ground.

She thought it was one of her staff members.

"I'm sorry, I know it's been a minute. Is it time to go and take pictures?"

Suddenly, the head lifted, and Nayeon nearly burst with happiness as she realized that it was you.

"Surprise, my love!"

"You're here?" She asked before squealing in excitement and rushing to you, throwing her arms around your neck. "I thought you had commitments?"

"No, silly. I just said that so I could surprise you!" You grinned as you brushed your fingers through her hair. "You didn't think I'd miss showing you my love and support during your solo, did you?"

She shook her head, smiling from ear to ear.

"I saw you out there. You did such a great job."

"Thank you." She said as she hugged you tightly.

"I mean it, Nayeon. You're so talented. Your voice is so pretty and you've got so much energy and star power. You always shine so brightly. You did so well and you should be so proud of yourself!"

"I am." She grinned. "I have more to do today."

"I know. I'm excited to tag along and watch you shine again and again."

She leaned into your touch as you gently placed your hand on her cheek, causing her eyes to flutter.

And when they did, you leaned in and stole a quick kiss.

"I love you, my star."

"I love you too, baby." She said as her eyes filled with stars. "I have to take some photos. You'll take a couple with me, right?"

"Here? At Inkigayo? I'd be honored to!"

She chuckled and kissed your lips a couple of times.

"Come on, pretty." You said as you took her hand and went to turn around to head out the door.

But before you got the chance, she put her arms around you to pull you in for another hug.

"I thought you had pictures to take." You laughed but quickly hugged her back.

"In a minute. Hug me for just a few more seconds." She whispered and melted as you rubbed her back. "Thank you for being here."

"Always, sweet girl." You said. "I'll always be here to cheer you on and watch you shine. I promise."
