she wakes you for cuddles

As she's been doing for the last hour, Nayeon continued to toss and turn in bed. Feeling restless and growing frustrated of lying awake when she has a busy morning ahead, she sat up in bed and tugged at her hair. She closed her eyes and rubbed her arms when a slight chill came over her.

She thought about going to grab some water or crashing on the couch so she didn't wake you with her constant tossing and turning. But all she really wanted was to be in your arms. She wanted to feel your heartbeat against her ear and to feel secure and warm in your embrace. She wanted her worries to slip away and for her mind to calm down so she could rest, and she knew that she could have all those things if you held onto her.

She laid back down and scooted closer to you. Your back was facing her and for a moment, she just watched it rise and fall steadily and listened to you breathe.

She didn't want to interrupt or even possibly ruin your peaceful slumber. But time was ticking by. It was after two in the morning and she has a busy day ahead. She needs to rest, but she felt that the only way she'd be able to was by being safe in your arms.

She let her hand fall against your back softly. Your shirt was pulled up a little already from you rolling around in your sleep occasionally. She put her fingertips against your warm skin and brushed them along your back ever so gently.

Soon, you stirred at the soft feeling. You craned your neck to look back at her and saw her already staring back at you.

"Nayeon? Are you okay?"

She shook her head and then dropped it against your back. "I can't sleep. I need you to cuddle me."

You rubbed the sleep from your eyes and looked back at the clock. "You woke me at two-sixteen in the morning for cuddles?" You mumbled, but there was an obvious hint of amusement and happiness in your voice. "That's adorable, baby."

You turned onto your back and opened your arms up for her. She rolled into them and laid her head on your chest.

"Why can't you sleep?" You whispered as you brushed your fingers along her shoulder in soft circles.

"Just can't seem to keep my eyes closed. I'm restless and cold and then I get frustrated for feeling restless because I know I have important things lined up in the morning and then,"

"Your mind runs?" You finished for her to which she nodded her head. "That's alright, my love. You're safe in my arms now. No need to worry. I'll keep you warm and hold you tight through the rest of the night." You promised and sealed it with a soft kiss to her forehead.

Your lips felt so soft against her skin and she found herself melting right into them. Her eyes closed and she cracked a small smile. She didn't exactly feel sleepy but she felt so content and so secure that she was drifting off to sleep.

"I love you so much, Nayeon. Get some sleep. Sweet dreams."

You kissed her temple and closed your eyes, about to drift off to sleep, but not before you heard her mumble an 'I love you' back as she finally fell asleep in the comfort of your arms.
