confessing to you while she's drunk - part three (requested)

You were curled up on the sofa with a blanket draped over your lap and your comfort film playing as you replayed the words that you and Nayeon had spoken to each other.

You knew deep down that as much as you could try and pretend if she wanted to that you couldn't take back what you said and neither of you would be able to forget it.

You could try but things wouldn't ever be the same between you and that was a scary thought for you.

As you reached for your glass and raised it to your lips, there was a knock on your front door.

You groaned before you got up and made your way to the front door.

You couldn't help but dread finding out who was at the door as you weren't in the mood at all to have some company after what you'd gone through earlier.

But it wasn't just any random person standing there.

It was Nayeon.

"Nayeon? What are you doing here?" You asked as your eyes met hers.

"I want to talk."

That's the last thing that you wanted to do.

But you knew sooner or later, you'd have no choice but to speak about what happened if you wanted to stay friends.

So you nodded and moved aside to let her in.

Once she was inside, you closed the door and went back over to your spot on the sofa.

"Can I sit down?"

You wordlessly nodded your head and she sat down beside you, placing her purse on the floor between her feet.

"We need to talk." She said. "About what you said earlier."

"Look, Nayeon," You spoke as you rubbed your forehead. "I know I said something that I can't take back and I know that things are different between us now, but I'd really just like to put it behind us so we can move on."

"Y/N, I can't do that."

You buried your face in your hands with a heavy sigh.

"I'm sorry for what I said. I know I ruined things between us but I swear to you, I only said it because I thought you meant what you said to me last night. If I had known that you didn't, then I would've never said anything."

"Then you would've just kept this to yourself forever?" She asked.

"As hard as it would've been... yes. If it means that we can at least be friends, yes."

"See that's the thing, Y/N. I can't be friends with you anymore."

Your heart dropped.

Oh, god, you had truly messed up.

"I messed things up that badly?"

"No. I did." She said and you furrowed your brows in confusion in response. "I went back to the dorm and talked with the girls and realized that I was just too afraid to confront my own feelings."

She reached over and placed her hand on your thigh, causing your breath to hitch.

"I said the words in my sleep because I am in love with you and I was always too afraid to say it in fear that I might mess things up between us. But then the girls and I spoke and I realized..." She paused as she used her other hand to hook her fingers under your chin, making your eyes lock. "I am in love with you."

"You are?"

"Yes." She whispered softly. "I'm in love with everything about you."

It felt so surreal that you were tempted to pinch yourself.

"I'm so sorry for what I said earlier. I hope that you know that it was all just a huge mistake and I didn't mean it."

"It's okay." You assured.

"And I hope that you still feel the same."

"I do." You said and watched a bright smile pull at Nayeon's lips. "I do, Nay."

She breathed out a sigh of relief before she put her lips on yours to give you a soft kiss.

Your very first kiss together.

And it was perfect.

"I'm in love with you, Nayeon."

"I'm in love with you, Y/N."

It felt amazing for both of you to say the words aloud to each other.

And even more so, it felt amazing knowing that you both meant each word, wholeheartedly.

"So... where do we go from here?"

"Well, now that you're my girlfriend, I think I should take you out on a date." She said.

"Girlfriend?" You repeated as your heart fluttered.

"Yeah. Girlfriend. You're my girl now." She smiled as she took your hand into hers. "And I'm taking you out for dinner. So go get your shoes on."

You sat up to do as she said.

But before you got up off the sofa, you leaned over and laid a soft kiss on her cheek, making her smile from ear to ear.

She watched you go upstairs to change into something else and the whole time, her heart just swelled in her chest with love and happiness over the fact that you were now hers; all hers.
