7 - Jeon Jungkook

Imagine Jungkook is watching you pace back and forth nervously as your dad waits patiently by your side.

"You look beautiful, love," he whispers from where he's standing a few feet away from you. He tries his best to put on his best smile, but the dull ache in his chest prevents his smile from reaching his eyes.

"You look beautiful, darling," your father reiterates Jungkook's point. "The ceremony has already started. It's your time to shine."

As you link arms with your dad and take a deep breath one last time to calm your racing nerves, Jungkook can't help admiring how truly breathtaking you look. Your outfit is everything you've ever dreamed of. In fact, seeing you in your outfit pulls memories of all the times you had excitedly showed him pictures of what you wanted to wear at your dream wedding.

"Don't be nervous, Y/N. It's everything you've ever dreamed of," Jungkook murmurs reassuringly as he positions himself perfectly on your vacant side and links arms with you.

As soon as the double doors open in front of the three of you, all eyes are on you. The small string quartet begins to play their previously appointed piece and your dad and Jungkook begin walking you down the aisle.

The closer and closer you get, the louder your heart beats. Despite feeling nervous to a point where it feels like your stomach is flipping somersaults, you also can't help the happy smile that pulls on your lips. Just as you stop in front of the altar, your dad leaves a gentle kiss on your cheek before unlinking arms with you, allowing you to turn to face your soon-to-be husband.

"Hi, beautiful," Jay smiles brightly at you.

"Hi, babe," you giggle softly under your breath.

Yet, before you step up to join your fiance at the altar, you halt mid-step for a moment. Something deep in your gut urges you to glance over your left shoulder causing you to unknowingly glance straight at your ex-boyfriend.

Jungkook's breath hitches in his throat and the ache in his chest no longer pains him. Because the moment your eyes meet, he's taken back to that day from several years ago - the day he took his last breath while lying in your arms.

He had made an urgent promise with you that day. A promise that you'll take your time to mourn, but eventually move on to find love again. And after years of watching you and looking out for you, you've finally found love again and he couldn't be more proud of you.

"Y/N?" Jay calls out to you softly, bringing your attention back to him. "Everything alright?"

"Everything's fine," you smile at him, your hand automatically finding his hand when he offers it for you to hold.

As you take your final step up to the altar, and as Jungkook finally unlinks his arms with you, he takes one last chance to kiss you on your cheek before turning to the younger male and saying, "Take good care of her for me, Jongseong-ssi. Thank you for helping her love again."

Hello, my lovely Dalgis! How did you all like this Jungkook Imagine (feat. Jay from Enhypen)? This was another one of those works that made me shed a tear or two while drafting - especially since Jungkook is my ult bias 😭

I had originally intended to have Jungwon as the groom simply because the chokehold Wonie has on me as my Enha bias wrecker is insane, lmao. However, the more I thought about it, the more I began to realize how Jay suited this role better. Out of the rest of the Enha members, I can see Jay being this caring figure who helps his partner heal and love again after a significant loss like this. This doesn't go to say that the other Enha members aren't capable of providing that sense of security! I just somehow see it the strongest in Jay, if that makes sense.

I hope you all are doing well. I just finished my last final exam yesterday so I have a few days to take a quick breather before I start my internship next week! However, because I'm starting my internship on Monday, I might readjust my weekly update schedule so that I post a little earlier on Mondays before I go into the office. I'll most likely settle with posting on Mondays at around 12-1 AM (PST) before I go to sleep. And I think this will work out for most of my readers since I know the majority of you live in time zones ahead of me, haha!
