Imagine you're on a plane, traveling to a different country to escape your psychotic ex. It had taken a lot of careful planning, but after months of sneaking behind his back, you're finally out of his grasp. In this moment right now, as you sit in your plane seat looking out the window, you can't help but feel as if the weight of the world has been lifted from your shoulders. The sun is slowly setting behind the endlessly rolling clouds and the soft glow that illuminates your face instantly relaxes all of the knots in your muscles.
There's still a couple of hours before the plane lands so you decide to pull up a movie on the in-flight entertainment system to help pass the time. About halfway into the film, the flight attendants begin to walk up and down the cabin with the drink trolley to hand out some complimentary snacks.
"Hello," she greets you with a warm smile. "Would you like anything to drink or to snack on?"
"Can I please get water for now?" you smile back at her.
"Of course," she nods, reaching down to grab a small bottle of water for you. "And for you, sir?" she asks the passenger sitting in the row behind you.
"I'd like a water as well."
The moment you hear the man's voice, your blood runs cold. You'd recognize that voice anywhere because it belongs to the person who has made your life a living hell for the past year. You turn around in your seat as calmly as you can despite your racing heart, only to make eye contact with Jungwon through the cracks in between the seats. He's already staring at you with a bone-chilling smile resting on his lips and a dark look dancing around in his irises.
"Hi, babe. Miss me?"
