Imagine you're on a plane with your child. You've been a single parent for several years now and you wouldn't want it any other way. You love your child with all of your heart and you would do anything for them.
Naturally, as summer vacation is finally here, you decided to surprise them with a gift of a trip to a vacation destination they've always wanted to visit. You had been saving up for a while and even managed to book business seats, with the help of your previously accumulated mileage rewards.
While you get yourself and your child situated on the plane as everyone is boarding, you're a little too preoccupied to notice that your child is actually striking up a conversation with the person sitting in the seat in the aisle across from them.
"Oh, I know that person!" your child exclaims excitedly, pointing at a magazine page the stranger just flipped to.
"You do?" the stranger muses, slightly surprised by the recognition.
"My mom always talks about how handsome he is every time she sees his picture," your child giggles. "She likes to watch a lot of his videos on YouTube too."
The stranger suppresses a giggle when you turn around in horror, finally realizing that your child isn't just babbling to themself.
"What did I say about bothering the nice people on this flight?" you frown, before redirecting your attention to the stranger who is still looking your way.
There's something strikingly familiar about his eyes, but you can't quite put your finger on it as he's wearing a mask that covers the rest of his face.
"I am so sorry that she bothered you," you smile apologetically.
"It's no trouble, really," the stranger shakes his head politely. He then reaches up to tug his face mask down, which makes you freeze in realization. "I don't think I introduced myself yet."
"Mommy!" your daughter exclaims. "It's the guy you always talk about! It's him!"
"I'm Kim Sunoo," Sunoo smiles brightly. "Nice to meet you."
