Imagine you invited a guy to your house for dinner. You first noticed him a couple of weeks ago when you were on your daily stop at your local coffee shop. As cliche as it sounds, he had caught your attention from across the small cozy shop within minutes, encaptured you in a strange trance so that you couldn't look away. And as if the universe were working in your favor, your curious gaze had caught his attention as well.

Each day, the two of you would play a daring game to see who could sneak the most glances without getting caught by the other. However, just last week, you finally worked up the courage to ask him out. To your delight, he said yes.

"So, tell me about yourself," you smile softly, finally breaking the silence after you sneak a few bites of food in.

"What would you like to know?" he asks, picking up his napkin to dab at the corner of his lips.

"Anything and everything," you shrug simply. "I only know you as the guy from my favorite coffee shop right now."

"Not the handsome guy? Just a normal guy?" he teases, causing you to giggle. He takes the melodious sound of your laughter as his cue to oblige to your requests and begins telling you about himself.

As he begins his story, you nod along to show that you're actively listening. Yet, the further down his timeline he ventures, your ministrations begin to slow. Instead, all you can focus on is the adrenaline pumping through your veins and your steady breath, inhaling and exhaling. When his story about his childhood and current job dies down, you frantically scramble to divert to another topic.

"What are some of your hobbies?" you ask, just as he takes another bite of food.

Yet, before he gets a chance to respond to your question, you finally kick up one of your feet lightly. You graze lightly against his inner thigh and watch as his eyes widen in surprise. When he least expects it, you kick forward with all your strength, aiming right where a man is most vulnerable.

A small smirk pulls on your lips when he doubles over in pain gasping for dear life. Yet the man sitting in front of you seems to forget that he had just taken a bite of food. Your smirk fully widens when he begins to audibly struggle, falling onto the ground and gasping for air.

"Oh, what happened?" you ask, a new hint of venom dripping in your tone. You can't help but giggle when the man turns to look at you with a pleading look in his eyes, all the while desperately gripping his throat. When you finally rise from your seat, there's a small look of relief in his eyes. You, on the other hand, take your sweet time to make your way over to him before dropping into a squat at his level.

"Seems like you're choking," you state plainly. "Luckily, I know the Heimlich maneuver."

You run one of your hands through his hair to tuck some loose strands behind one of his ears just as his facial colors begin to turn blue. "But unfortunately for you, I don't plan on saving you nor do you deserve it," you chuckle dryly, watching the fear settle in his lifeless eyes. "Because a few years ago, you were involved in a hit and run after driving under the influence. The victim you had struck had died on the scene because your pathetic ass fled the scene as fast as you could. And somehow you also managed to get away with your crimes with a few years in prison and some more years on probation."

By now, the man in front of you is trembling uncontrollably. You can't tell if he's struggling with his blocked airway, if he's still in pain from your earlier infliction, or if he's finally feeling remorse for his heinous crime. However, you like to imagine that it's the latter of the three.

"That victim that you took an innocent life from was my best friend, Choi Soobin. I'm here to ensure that you struggle during your final moments of life, with no one to turn to help for, just as you had left him."

Finally, right as the man's eyelids begin to droop down one last time, you look up to the ceiling with tears brimming in your eyes. Your lips quiver into a small smile before whispering, "This one's for you, Binne. I told you I'd find him."

Happy Monday, Dalgis! I know this isn't the happiest of tropes, but let's just pretend the thriller/suspense theme is for the sake of Halloween since it's just around the corner, lol. Speaking of which, do any of y'all have any fun plans for Halloween this year?

I hope you're all staying safe, happy, and healthy! I recently got another COVID booster since it's required by my university, and I was thoroughly surprised that my reaction was very minimal this year. Normally, I would feel the side effects of the vaccine for the entire day after I got the vaccine. But this year, I only felt chills and fatigue about 12 hours after I got the vaccine and was better by the time I woke up the next day.

As always, thank you so much for your constant support on this work. I'm thinking of maybe just "finishing" off this story once I finish posting all the pre-drafted chapters I have left. (There are still 28 imagines for me to get through.) But I do have some other ideas I might try executing. I'll keep y'all updated!

Until next week,
