26 - Kim Taehyung

Imagine you live in an alternate universe where three tattoos appear on your arm the moment you turn 21 years old. All three tattoos are names - the first one being your first love, the second being your soulmate, and the last one being the person who kills you. Most people usually only get the first two, but a good handful of society receives three.

The night prior to your 21st birthday, your boyfriend, Taehyung, pulls up excitedly to your apartment. With him being older than you, he's already gotten his tattoos so he knows exactly who you are to him, which is why he's so eager to watch his name appear as your soulmate tattoo on your arm.

"Are you ready, baby?" Taehyung asks as the two of you sit cuddled up on your bed. "Less than a minute to go."

"I'm excited but I'm also a little nervous," you admit with a soft giggle.

"There's nothing to worry about, baby," the older male responds while nuzzling his nose cutely against your cheek. "You already know I'm going to do everything I can as your soulmate."

"What if there's a third name?" you ponder curiously.

"There won't be. I'm sure you'll only have two names," he responds confidently.

"I hope so." You let out a shaky breath as you watch the seconds tick by. Just as the clock strikes midnight, you shove your arm out towards your boyfriend and squeeze your eyes shut. "You look for me."

"Oh, would you look at that! I was right - you only have two names. But it looks like I've also been exposed," Taehyung chuckles but there's a subtle change in his tone that causes you to peek your eyes open. A sudden chill runs down your spine and your body freezes when you watch a crooked smirk form on his lips.

Oddly enough, the man sitting in front of you is not someone you recognize. Sure, you know it's Taehyung. He has the same mole on the tip of his nose that you adore oh-so-much. But in those brief moments when you closed your eyes, something in his eyes changed. It's like his soul has wholly left him. He's nothing but a shell of who he used to be and the only word you can truly use to describe the man in front of you is cold.

To your horror, when you glance down at your arm, there are two names just as he said. The only problem is that there are three tattoos. The first one is the name of your first-ever boyfriend, and the second and third are Taehyung's name.

"I'm going to love you so much until it drives you mad and kills you."
