104 - Yang Jungwon

Imagine you're out on a brief stroll to take a break from studying all day long when you see a small dog running up to you. Even from afar, you can tell the dog is excited to see you for some reason. As it gets closer and closer, you instantly recognize the small white ball of fluff.

"Maeumi! I haven't seen you in so long, buddy," you giggle happily, squatting down to pet your ex-boyfriend's dog. When the small dog jumps up to rest its front paws on your knee and leans up to leave puppy kisses on the bottom of your chin, you chuckle while softly admitting, "I've missed you too, pup."

A few seconds later, you hear the sound of jogging footsteps approaching from behind you. "Maeumi! You can't go running off like that," Jungwon scolds just as he approaches the two of you. When you finally stand up and turn around, you watch as realization settles on Jungwon's features. "Oh, Y/N," he says breathily. "Now I understand why Maeumi just took off running like that. Sorry about that."

"It's okay," you shrug with a small smile. "Keep a tight hold on Maeumi's leash next time, alright? I don't want anything happening to him – he could get hurt if this happens again."

"Right," Jungwon nods, holding eye contact with you for a few seconds. There's an unreadable expression swirling around in his irises, mirroring that of yours. The two of you haven't seen each other since you broke up so there are a thousand thoughts running through your heads right now.

As if sensing the tsunami of emotions, Maeumi begins to whimper. Jungwon instantly looks down and gives his dog a forced smile. "C'mon, buddy," he announces defeatedly. "Let's go home. You can't bother Y/N anymore. She's no longer in our lives."

Your heart aches a little when the two begin to walk away, Maeumi continuously whimpering as he looks back at you every now and then.

"I know, buddy. I miss Y/N too." You hear Jungwon whisper just as they turn the street corner.

Happy Monday, Dalgis! Sorry, this week's update was posted a little later! I've been extremely busy these past two weeks and I'm still working through a lot of personal projects so staying active here hasn't been at the forefront of my mind 😥

Honestly, I'm always really tempted to utilize Wattpad's "Schedule to publish later" function, but since I cross-post all of my works on AO3 as well, I'm scared that I'll forget to publish my updates there since AO3 does not have that function. (At least not to my knowledge, lol.)

I hope you all enjoyed reading this (bittersweet) Jungwon imagine! In my mind, the two characters eventually realize just how much they miss each other and how they want to make their relationship work again - so they eventually get back together (with Maeumi's help, ofc). But maybe that's the biased part of me speaking because I could never imagine hurting Jungwon 😭

I hope you have all been doing well; staying safe, happy, and healthy! I know we're all extremely busy with our personal lives, no matter what we have going on so I hope you're all taking care of yourselves well. I love you all so much! 💗
