49 - Kang Taehyun

Imagine it's late at night when you finally arrive home from a long exhausting day at work. As you walk through the front door, you're careful not to make too much noise so you don't wake your boyfriend. However, you freeze mid-step when you hear him speaking in a hushed tone. Though his voice is soft, it sounds like he's talking to someone and his tone seems very concerned.

As you venture deeper into your home, you notice him pacing back and forth in the living room with his back turned toward you. You assume he's on the phone, but just as he turns, you catch sight of a small piece of paper held tightly in one of his hands.

"Hyunie, is everything alright?" you ask softly, making him startle in surprise before spinning around to meet your gaze.

"Y/N, I witnessed such a horrifying accident this morning on my way to work. I couldn't get too close to the scene but I'm somewhat confident the person didn't make it," he rambles, eyes glazing over as he recalls the traumatic memory.

"Oh, babe," you breathe out, instantly reaching to embrace him in a hug. "I'm so sorry you witnessed that. Do you want to talk about it? Should we go see a professional? There's nothing wrong with going to therapy. I just want you to be okay and feel safe."

"No, I think I'm okay for now," Taehyun shakes his head softly. He proceeds to slip out of your grasp, only to reach out to grab your waist with his hands and pull you closer until your noses are practically touching. "But the accident made me realize something."

"What is it?" you murmur, lips grazing against his with each syllable.

"I can't live without you, Y/F/N. When that person lost their life this morning, it made me realize how that could happen to anyone at any given time. It made me realize how precious time is and that I don't want to spend a single second without you."

Happy Monday, Dalgis! How'd y'all like this Hyunie imagine? 

I feel like it's been a while since I left a heartfelt author's note at the end of my update. I will admit, I've been robotically posting for a while now as I've been posting at times when my brain is far too sleepy to actually register the words I'm typing. My apologies for being so absent. I truly appreciate all of you and I love writing and sharing my works here as it brings me so much joy. I just wish there was more time in the world for me to get to everything I want to do. 

But on that note, how are you all doing? I've been busy with work and school but I'm excited as I inch closer to graduating this summer. It honestly feels quite surreal to me at the moment, lol. 

Was anyone able to secure Agust D tickets? I was so shocked by the prices - and by the time it was my turn to buy tickets, only the $1,000 seats were remaining and I just couldn't find it within myself to purchase them. So I, unfortunately, will not be seeing Yoongi live 😭 But congrats to everyone who secured tickets! Go show him how proud we are of him and how much we love him 💜
