Chapter 32: A Chat with Minerva

SEVERUS POV (This is a short chapter, completely in Severus POV)

Severus leans down and whispers in Mcgonagall's ear,

Minerva, can I please speak with you later today in my office?

"Yes sir? Is there an issue?"

No.. I just need to discuss something with you.

She nods and walks away, Severus scans the room looking for (Y/N)..It doesn't take long to find her sitting with a student, with her "I'm listening" face on, and rubbing their arm to comfort them. He loves that about her, she cares so much..

He walks towards her and she makes eye contact with him, and shakes her head no.. He halts, and she taps on her temple... He closes his eyes and looks in....

Its a pretty serious conversation and it doesn't sound like it's going to end soon.. He gets out and looks at her, and points his head and mouths "my classroom".. She shakes her head yes.. and he goes to his room....

"Good Evening Severus" Minerva Says...

Good evening, please take a seat... He motions to the seat in front of his desk that students normally sit in..

She takes her seat and Severus opens a drawer on his desk.. and pulls out a box..

He walks around and leans on the edge of his desk and fiddles with the small box in his hands..

I have been thinking.... I would like to propose to (Y/N) during the Spring Banquet...

"Oh Severus!" Minerva says clapping her hands together in front of her..

I am not planning on doing it in front of everyone, but I want to do it out in the garden area... I was wondering, if you could help me set it up and make it look nice... I am not-

"Severus.. "She stands to her feet and grabs his hands that are clutching the box... "I would Love too! I am so excited"

He opens the box and shows her the beautiful ring, and she is in shock..

"Severus, this is beautiful"

He smiles, It reminds me of her, every single bit of it..Minerva...

A tear starts to flow down his cheek, I have never... felt this way before...

She brushes his hair away from his face and pulls his face up so she can see his eyes..

"Severus, I have never seen you this happy... She is your light, and she has made all of us, alot better..."

Well, (Y/N) should be here soon because she should be done with her last session for the day.. Wouldn't want her to suspect anything..

Minerva smiles and pulls Severus in for a hug..

They sit there for a few moments, then she lets go..

"Looks like I've got some planning to do.." and she turns and heads out the door..

Severus heads back to his seat, and when he sits down.. He opens the ring box back up and stares at the beautiful band.. He closes his eyes and he hears the voice of Lily.. faint in the back of his head..

"I'm...so..happy..for you..."

He begins to break down and cry, he clutches the ring to his chest and he lets the tears flow...

*Knock knock*

He hurriedly puts the ring back into the drawer, and as soon as he closes the drawer, the door opens.

"Hello Dear.." she comes in throwing her shoes off by the door.. which makes a smile come across his face..

"Why are you crying" She picks up her pace.. Once she gets to him she sits in his lap, and he holds onto her hips and looks up at her..

Just reminiscing on some memories.. She pushes the hair out of his face and cups his cheeks with her hands, wiping the tears with her thumbs.

I love you.. He tightens his grip on her, and her lips come to meet his...

He releases her lips, and pulls her head into his chest... They sit there in the silence, and each other's embrace...
