Chapter 54: It's TIME!

It has been one week..one week since your life flashed before your eyes.. Samuel saving your life, and the baby will be here any day.. 

You have been working on and off, you mainly only get out for your sessions and to eat.. Madam Pomfrey will be here soon to check on you..Today has sort of been off.. You feel like you are having consistent contractions so you are glad today is the day she will be coming to check on you.. 

Severus suddenly appears in the room, holding some papers.. 

"(Y/N)... Will you read this paper? Tell me what's missing? I feel like I have gone crazy.." he says walking towards you.. 

 You love when he's in teacher mode, honestly, it's a turn on.. 

Sure.. you say taking the papers and he paces around the room.. 

You quickly realize what's wrong.. 

Severus, I think you need to take a break.. you say with a giggle in your voice.. 

The look he gives you is shock and irritation.. 

Baby, she has not laid this out right at all.. Also, its missing the date... I noticed this right off the bat.. I think you need to take a break. Come here.. 

You say setting the paper down on the nightstand and patting the spot that is usually his on the bed.. 

He begins to crawl in the bed when the pain hits you... 

AH... You say grabbing your stomach.. 

Severus, I think I'm have been having contractions and I think it's time honestly.

You go to stand up and you feel a release, you look down and there is a puddle at your feet.. 

Severus!! You say holding your belly..

He picks you up quickly and teleports you into the hospital wing.. 

"Madam Pomfrey!! (Y/N) she's been having contractions today, and her water broke at the house!" He says yelling and setting you down on the bed.. 

She runs out of one of the rooms an she begins to smile

"It's TIME!" She says running over to the bed and taking you into one of the private rooms... 

You feel one of the contractions hit and you grunt and squint your face.. You look at Severus and he looks pale.. 

"(Y/n) would you like any pain meds or something to help?" 

No.. I think I can do this just fine..

She snaps her fingers and you are in a birthing gown...

"Alright, I am going to check and see how dilated you are.." she says as she begins to get you in position..

Once you get as comfortable as possible, you look at Severus standing in the corner.. 

Come here. You say holding your hand out for him to take.. 

 He walks over slowly and grabs your hand... 

"Well (Y/N), you are at 9cm dilated.. Once you get to 10 we can begin pushing.... Give me a moment and I will go get some things I need." She says running out the door.. 

Your contraction subsides, you know you have about 3 minutes before another one hits.. You look at Severus and notice that he looks like he is going to pass out.. 

Severus.. pull up that stool.. I don't need you falling and hitting your head.. You say trying to grimis through the pain..

He goes and grabs the seat then sits back down holding your hand.. 

Will you cut the cord... you say not looking him in the eyes.. 

"I-uh.. will do whatever you want me to.." He says squeezing your hand tighter.. 

I would like you too, but If you can't I understand.. You say...

"Are you scared.." he says.. you turn and look toward him and he  has a serious look of concern on his face.. 

I am a little, but I am going to get this baby out and We will have a beautiful son...

"We never decided-" 

AH! you scream as another contraction rips through your body.. 

Madam Pomfrey runs in with her table of supplies.. She takes a look and sure enough.. 

"You're ready to go love! Start pushing" 

You take a deep breath and puuussshhhh... 

"Ok good job honey! That was a good first push! Let's do it again!" 

You end up pushing three more times before you hear her say

"One more good push and he will be out!" 

You look at Severus and do one last, BIG push...

You feel the instant relief as he comes out.. and you see Madam Pomfrey hold him up in the air.. 

She sets him on your chest, and then starts sucking the stuff out of his nose.. 

Suddenly he begins to cry... 

It makes your heart well up, you begin to cry... You look at Severus, and he has a look of shock on his face as tears pool in his eyes.. 

They start wiping him off and she clamps the cord for him to cut.. 

He grabs the scissors and cuts where he is told.. 

They take your sweet boy to go get him cleaned up.. And one of the nurses comes up to help get you cleaned up.. and get the afterbirth taken care off.. 

........

You sit in a nice silk robe, letting some of the pain meds run through your body.. You are exhausted... but can't wait to see your son.. 

Severus climbs in the bed with you and wraps his arms around you.. 

"You are amazing.." He says kissing your cheek.. 

You smile, then the door opens.. Madam Pomfrey comes in holding your baby.. 

Once she gets to the side, she hands him to you.. You look at the beautiful head of black hair.. and his little nose.. and hands poking out of the blanket... 

"I will give you too a moment, I need you to decide on a name.." 

You nod your head realizing you two never decided.. 

Before you go, will you take a picture of us three?  You say reaching for your wand to conjure up your camera...

She nods.. once the picture is taken, she leaves the room.. 

You look at Severus and smile.. I have a first name.. 

"Oh really" He says as he rubs the little head...

Samuel.. Let's call him Samuel.. Do you have a middle name?

He nods... 

"Brian...one of Albuses middle names" He says looking at you for confirmation

I think that's a good name dear..

You say leaning up and kissing him...

It's your turn to hold him.. 

You smile and go to place the child in his arms.. Severus awkwardly takes him.. Adjusting to his weight once he realizes how light he is.. 

"Samuel Brian Snape..." He says looking at him in amazement..You cuddle  close to Severus.. and revel in this moment as long as you can..
