chapter thirteen
Brynn came to work in time, hoping to meet Thomas once again. Everytime she'd see a guy with the same features as Thomas she's smile, then they take off their shades.
"Still waiting for him?" Grace popping behind Brynn. Brynn leaned against the table, facing away from the door.
"No, he just complimented me, it's not like he's gonna come back for me. No big deal. Besides, he wouldn't go for a girl like me," she covered her true feelings.
"That's major denial, Babe," her British accent taking her simple phrase into a catchy one.
"You know, I don't usually get attached to children, but you are different. You're kind, gorgeous and smart. If this guy wouldn't show any interest in you, then he is having a major loss," she smiled.
"I'm not gorgeous. You're just saying that to make me feel better," Brynn denying the compliment.
As Grace was just about to say something, something caught her attention and made her jaw drop. Brynn was just about to steal a glance when Grace hurriedly pushed her to the counter and nudged the cashier away.
"What is -whaa," she lost her words as Thomas entered the door. He smiled and ordered for Caffé Americana and a cinnamon roll.
Grace had left even before he even smiled. "That would cos-"
"I know. Here wait," he reached for his wallet inside his pocket and handed her the exact amount.
Brynn smiled and finished the transaction. Before she could have pointed him to move to the next station, Grace have already shooed the employees away.
"Brynn! I have to speak to these people, please do his order," she smiled, then we he looked down at his feet to giggle knowing what's she doing, she smirked at Brynn.
"FUCK YOU," she mouthed the words at Grace.
"I LOVE YOU TOO," she mouthed back and into the room she went.
"I'm really sorry about that," she embarrassingly apologized.
"It's okay," he giggled. Thomas walked towards the claiming station as Brynn starts getting his drink made. It took about a good 5 minutes to get it done. Just as she placed her drink down the tray, the microwaved tinged.
She took the cinnamon roll from the microwave and placed it on the tray. "Do you need some help carrying or.."
"No it's fine. Thank you though," he smiled.
He carried his tray and took a table beside the window. He brought out a spiral notebook, a pen and wrote something down.He looked around, seeming to look for inspiration. Brynn sat on a chair completly on the opposite of the room of where he was. She tried stealing glances from him but he'd caught her.
"Seems like you two are playing hard to get," Casey popped in the picture along with Grace.
"Mmmmm," was all Grace said, distracted in the said guy.
"Is that the guy," Casey asked. "Yup that's him," Grace replied back. The two kept talking but Brynn couldn't possibly care enough to listen.
"Brynn Georgia Clementine, PLEASE WAKE UP!" finally, Brynn was able to snap out of her distraction and gave noticed to the world after she dazing.
"What?"
"We have been calling your name since like forever and you are not responding! What's in that guy that you see that we dont?" Casey whisper-screamed.
"I don't know," she smiled as if she was high.
"Describe him then," Casey stood up straight and crossed her arms. She raised her eyebrow as she was waiting for his response.
"I don't know. He is a pretty man, but his beauty is as ineffable as Luke Hemmings," she described. "How I wish he'd take his shades off though."
"Damn right you wish. Because if he ends up being crossed eyed or something, I'm gonna laugh my ass off," Grace laughed.
The three separated in their own ways to get their assigned jobs done.
