chapter sixteen

Small noises began fading in and clearing up for Brynn to completely hear. She slowly opened her eyes, seeing people staring at her and someone beside her. She turned her head to see a young man beside her.

Brynn slowly moved her upper body to an upright position. The young man dropped his hand away from his head and placed it below Brynn's armpits. He slowly stood up to help her sit up.

Brynn opened her mouth and cried of pain. She massaged her head and quickly, he helped her massaging her head.

"Don't speak. I've already asked a pack of ice from a hotel staff for you. Oh by the way - Brynn?"

"How do yo.... How do you know me?" she stuttered.

He let a small laugh out. "It's Thomas." he smiled. She couldn't see the man in front of her. It's still all to blurry. "Brynn, are you alright?"

"Huh? Uhmmm yeah," she snapped back to reality. Brynn was trying to find this guy's eyes under his shades. "What's your name?"

"I said it was Thomas," he smiled. "You must've missed me when I was leaving the elevator. I didn't see you either, I'm sorry."

"It's okay," she mumbled. It hurts too much to ever think about anything, so she was just sitting still, trying not to talk.

Finally, the hotel staff came in with the pack of ice. "Here's your ice," he handed it to Thomas. He placed it on Brynn's head and sat with her.

"Where's your room? I'm taking you there," he asked. He helped Brynn stand up and walked her towards the elevator.

She instructed him the way and gave him the key. He brought her to the bed and laid her down. "Are you Calum?" she asked, trying to get it off her head.

"No," he answered. He took the nearest chair and placed it beside the bed. "But you look like him, it has to be you. Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be on tour?" she slowly asked.

"I- I'm not Calum. I'm Thomas. Maybe you're mistaking us," he awkwardly laughed. "Why are you here anyways? This is so far from where you are."

"Tickets. I'm going to buy ticket for the 5SOS concert. I need to meet them. It's a must," she smirked. Her eyes were closed, since it was hard for to look at anything.

"All this? Just for a concert?"

"Why not? If you're that desperate."

"C'mon tell me, you already bumped my head," he smiled. He stood up from the chair and walked towards the other side of the bed. He took his shoes off and laid down the bed beside her.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Fine," he pouted. Suddenly, his phone rang. "Hello?.... What?.... No I bumped into her.... She's fine... Okay fine, I'm leaving," he stood up.

"Who was that?" she asked, not even bothering to tilt her head. She threw the ice away and wiped her hands on her shirt.

"A friend, I gotta go. Just stay here, until you feel better. Goodbye," he opened the door and left her. Brynn opened her eyes and glanced at the door.

She shrugged it off and closed her eyes again.
