chapter seven
Brynn took her car going to school. She didn't want to drive, but the bus isn't available on Saturdays. Brynn's English teacher, Ms. Dhavernas, wanted her to join a Spelling competition. It may sound really childish, but this game is very complicated.
They throw to you words that you may not have heard in your entire life.
Every year, each school in New Jersey celebrates English month, practices games like the Spelling competition. Which means, every year Brynn is taken by the school as their bet.
It's funny how Casey remembers more about this schedule Brynn encounters every year.
Casey is one persistent student, but not a very clever child. Every year, she strives to be the first in her level, but Brynn, she conquers everytime. Casey, she never gets mad, because she know Brynn is the smart one.
Sometimes, it kind of pushes Brynn to study hard, because seeing Casey studying very hard and not even reaching first, hurts for her. How she is the first without even trying. Without even effort. Many times did she attempt to answer the wrong answer, when she knew the correct one, but Casey didn't like the fact that she is doing it just to make her feel better.
"Mrs. Clementine! It's good to see you again! Please, please come in," she dragged her towards the conference room full of english teachers. She tried bringing Casey in too, but she was really restricted.
The meeting took about 4 hours of suggesting, fighting and practicing. Brynn was extremely glad when she got out of the conference room. She took Casey and left the school with her.
"Wait! What happened in there? You look really stressed," she questioned. She was running from time to time to keep pace with Brynn, who was walking really swiftly.
"Nothing. I fell asleep to be honest. I just woke up when they told me to practice spelling the words," she admitted.
"Well, I wish you luck then."
"Thanks, but it's still like next week?" she shrugged it off. She whistled to signal the cab. The cab jolted once the driver saw them. The two entered the cab, and instructed the driver where their home was.
Brynn opened her bag looking for mirror, when suddenly her phone rang, She grabbed her phone for her pocket and an unknown caller was calling.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Brynn Clementine?"
"This is she," she answered.
"Okay, so earlier we have debated on the people who have applied and the board seem to be impressed. If you have time, your friends and you could pick up your uniform today, so you can start tomorrow."
"Yes, Yes of course. We'll be there in a minute," she assured. Brynn closed her phone and instructed the driver to go to Starbucks.
"Why? What happened?" Casey asked.
"We got it! We can start working tomorrow!" Brynn squealed.
"Well then let's go! But we have to tell them our schedule," Casey reminded.
"Of course. We're going to discuss that to them," she guaranteed.
"What if just in case, they don't accept our schedule? What if we couldn't work there anymore?"
"Then off we go looking for another job," she smiled.
A/N:
This is just like a filler to show you how Brynn is in school.Yeah she is smart and all that but she does have some attitude too.
