chapter twenty eight
"Luke? Luke ohmygod!" she teared up. She knelt down beside him and tried pumping his chest.
She was crying while she was performing the CPR. She placed her ear on his chest checking for heartbeat.
She looked at Luke; confused. This guy has a heartbeat, she questioned. Right just as she thought about it, a smile started to form in his lips.
Luke let out a laugh and Brynn was annoyed. She shoved him away, but before she could even stand up, he grabbed her and hugged her.
Brynn's face was buried against Luke's chest, and her head was below his chin. She has to admit, the way he smells can get you high. Nah, I'm just kidding, Liz would get mad.
She tried to push him away but he was too powerful. "Let go of me," she said, ever so kindly.
"I'm sorry I kissed you by the way," Luke pulled away, made sure he'd stare at her.
"If I accept your apology, would you let go of me?"
"Mmm... I think so," Luke smirked. He pouted when Brynn was not responding at all. He did his puppy face too.
"Okay. Now let me go," Brynn pushed him as hard as she can away from him. But Luke just manage to control her. I mean, those muscles man!
Luke turned away and stared above the clouds. He took his other hand away from her body and placed it beside him.
Brynn turned away as well and looked up. "The sky is beautiful, you know?" she smiled.
"I know. I used to spend my time staring at it when I think of her. She likes to just randomly stare at something she'd find beautiful, and she could stay there for hours," he smiled at the memories.
"Mmmm okay," she grunted. "Hey, I'm stll hungry."
"Good for you," he laughed. "No, here, I saved you some fish." Luke stood up and walked towards the beach.
Brynn squinted at what he was trying to do. When she realized it might be food, she ran up to him.
He dug up some food underneath that he had saved for Brynn. It was cooked fish that he wrapped around with some leaves.
"Here," he handed her the food. "Oh wait there's more," he reached in his pocket and took out a couple of bananas.
"Thanks," she opened the leaves up and revealed a beautiful trout. She smelled it and definitely was sure it was delicious.
She got up and approached the water. She took a scoop of fresh water and washed her hands.
She went back to her food and and dug in. "It's delicious. Thank God it's not raw," she joked.
"Yeah, it should be. Otherwise my mum would kill me," they both laughed.
Brynn finished her fish 10 minutes later and ate up her bananas.
"Well that's the world's grossest woman ever!" Luke spoke after she had finished eating.
"Excuse me, I'm still hungry," Brynn rolled her eyes. She pouted and crossed her arms.
"Hungry? Wow you're a bear," he was shocked, for a small woman to ever eat so much.
"Rawr," she mocked. Luke pinched her chubby cheeks. The sun was almost coming down and they have to prepare the campfire soon.
"C'mon, we gotta find some logs now," they stood up and parted ways; searching.
