chapter five

After Casey and Brynn returned back home, they wasted no time and began gathering everything Brynn's mother said they would need for their résumé. Of course, this being their first time, they need some help.

It took a lot of persuading and deals made by the two. But in the end, they got her to help them.

It was about 11:30 when they were able to go to Starbucks. They still had to sneak out of the house to get there at a very late time. An hour and 10 minutes, the rushed interview lasted. There were numerous questions thrown at them. They were interviewed both simultaneously and individually.

Some questions were easy, and others were tough to answer. But on the positive note, their names were first on list of consideration. Others were not really applicable for the job.

"Thank you for allowing us to come. We were just really too excited to get the job," Casey shook the hand of the manager. They got out of the shop and drove back home.

They tip-toed around the house till they reached Brynn's room. They threw themselves onto the bed and laughed.

"Well that, I guess, is the most frightening and tiring interview I've ever had," Casey exclaimed. Her arm was folded on top of her forehead, showing that she, indeed was tired. Brynn's arms, on the other hand, were on top of her tummy.

"Tiring yes, but frightening? I'm afraid it wasn't. All you ever had to do there was tell the truth!" Brynn spoke. A sudden hit of realization was evident on her face. She lifted her body and squinted her eyes, "You didn't lie back there, did you?"

"What? Of course not! Maybe you did," Casey hit back.

"I didn't, I swear to God," Brynn chuckled.

"Well the liar ain't me. That's for sure," Casey raised her hand up. Brynn scoffed, but no longer spoke. Brynn ran down and switch the lights off. They stared at glow-in-the-dark constellations pasted on the wall, until they fell asleep.

Brynn woke up 2 hours later when her phone buzzed. Casey is in deep sleep, which meant she'd wake up in 10 hours. Brynn extended her arm to reach for her phone on top of the sidetable.

When she opened her phone, she squinted with the high brightness. She lowered it down, and checked what caused the buzz. It was the band account, Calum, Michael tweets that seemed to cause it.

"Luke wouldn't shut up about his old girlfriend!" the band account tweets.
"Can someone pls send us a masking tape now... Luke won't shut up about a girl!" Calum tweets.
"Luke's whining about this geezer girl make me hungrryyy :(," Michael tweets.

Another buzz vibrated on Brynn's hand. It was Michael. Again.

"I this it was supposed to be 'makes' on my last tweet. I don't really care, just did it to make Ashton happy hehe #sorrynotsorry," Michael tweeted again. I wonder who this girl they're talking about, and Luke's whining about, she thought.

Could it be? Oh no it can't, she wondered. No matter how much she would want to discuss what she feels now to Casey, she just can't. How could she expect a response from someone whose asleep?

She went through the comments, but barely finds anyone that would give her answers. Most were, 'Michael follow me. I love you so much. 1004x.' or "it's okey, Lukeyy," and other irrelevant comments like that.

Brynn felt that strange feeling as if something heavy is dragging her down, takes away her self-esteem away and feel like it is her problem forever. I want, no, I need, I need someone whom I can talk to, she whined.

She decided to off her cellular phone and place it on the sidetable. She grabbed her stuff toy, Bluff, a blue bear, and talked to it.

"Bluff, I don't know why I feel like this," she whispered. She took her toy for a hug, shut her eyes, and fell asleep.
