chapter twenty nine
"No you have to strike it," Luke took the two stone from Brynn. He started rubbing it really hard and fast causing a spark.
Seconds later they were able to create fire. They slowly placed some dried branch into the nest.
"We have to find more food before it starts to get really dark," Brynn stood up. She offered her hand to Luke for support.
"You're right. I'm gonna fish. You're gonna get some fruits," he planned. He took a branch and the stone to sharpen it.
"I... I don't know how to climb tree," Brynn stuttered.
"Get this stick," he handed Brynn a stick. "Try to hit it like piñata."
"Ehh. I'll try," she left with the stick and entered the woods. She stared at piece of wood and threw it.
"Don't throw that!" Luke shouted. She rolled her eyes and groggily grabbed it. She stumped her feet on her way to the tree.
She found a couple hand of bananas. She threw the stick and missed her aim.
"Ughhh!" she screamed. She threw another stick, it was closer, but still a miss.
She decided to just take a bunch of branches and throw it. Still, no luck.
"Fuck it, I'm climbing up," she threw all the branches and wood she was carrying. She walked towards the tree and looked up.
I can do this, she thought. She wrapped her foot and arm around the side of the tree. She hoisted her way up and gripped the tree with her thighs.
She repeated this until she finally made her way up to the tree. She grabbed the banana from the tree and smiled.
"Luke! Luke!" she screamed. She looked by the fire place, cooking. "I got some bananas!"
"This girl," he mumbled. He ran to her and waited for her to come down.
"Okay, let's come down now," he screamed from below. "Throw the bananas!"
Brynn threw the bananas down below to Luke and hurriedly came down.
"THERE'S A MONKEYYYY!!" Brynn screamed. She was afraid of monkeys, causing her to panic.
"It's okay, It's okay, I'm gonna catch you!" Luke hid the bananas under his pants. (A/N: DAFAQ HAHA LOL)
Brynn saw the monkey coming closer. She closed her eyes and breathed heavily. "Why," she jumped down.
Luke caught her, but she was just too heavy. They both fell down, flat on the ground.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry," Brynn tried standing up.
"I'm okay, I'm okay," she stood up. She knelt down and checked on Luke, who was the badly hit.
"You're so heavy," he laughed. Brynn slapped him on his tummy.
"Ouch, that hurts! You're fucking butt landed here! Might I add, it was heavy!" he laughed. Brynn placed her arm under his neck and helped him get up.
"C'mon, let's go!" Brynn pulled Luke up. "The monkey is coming down!"
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" he answered. Brynn started running but Luke was limping.
"Wait! My tummy hurts! It's hard to move!" he screamed.
"Give me the bananas!" Brynn hurriedly took it from him and ran to their bonfire. Luke ran as fast as he can to the fire.
"Thank God the monkey left, guess he found another bananas," he slowly sat down. The fish was laid on a leaf.
"Thanks for the fish," Brynn smiled. She took her hands onto the fish and started eating it. "I need to go home."
Luke was saddened by what she had said. He stared at his fish and half smiled. "Why? Do you have a boyfriend to see or something?" he asked.
"No, my Mom. She's just too worried for sure," she sighed. She placed her fish down and stared at the body of water.
"You know, I may sound like I hate my Mom for being too protective, but I really love her. She will never even do this if she didn't love me. I guess sometimes I'm just too jealous of my classmates who are living by themselves."
But when I think of it, I'm actually really lucky. We may not be that rich, but I'm happy. I'm happy that I have a brother, who does not really care for me, and a mother who does," she smiled.
"I'm know you have a lovely family, Brynn. I know that, because they have been family too."
