chapter twenty
It was past midnight when Brynn got home. Of course, she couldn't take the front door, so she took the ladder and placed it directly below her window. She slowly climbed up until she reached the top of her window.
Unfortunately, she missed a huge step on her floor and she fell. She made a loud thud causing her mother to wake up. She immediately ran under her bed sheets and fraud her sleep.
She heard her mother's heavy footsteps growing louder in noise. She opened the door and checked upon her daughter.
Brynn opened her eyes and faked her voice. "Mom, what is it?" she groggily asked.
"What was that noise I heard?" her mother pointed towards the window.
"I don't know. I was asleep then you came by and woke me up," she said.
"I'm sorry. Hey, don't forget your appointment tomorrow, k?" her mother reminded. She entered Brynn's room and kissed her forehead. She tucked her in and left her.
She closed the door and Brynn lifted up her blankets. "I don't want to go to my therapist," she frowned.
"I don't even need it anymore. I'm much much better now," she complained. She stood up from her bed and changed her clothes.
She left her room and went to their kitchen. She opened their pantry and looked for something to eat. She took some cereals and milk.
She placed it in a cup and assembled her brinner meal. She took a spoon and sat on their table. She opened their television and watched the local news.
"5 Seconds of Summer members Michael and Ashton were spotted buying some food in Taco Bell earlier this morning," the news reported.
Brynn opened her twitter and checked the daily trends. #MashtonInCali was trending.
One said that they saw Ashton on a suit in his hotel room. "Ashton wearing a suit earlier this evening," it read.
"Why are they here anyways? Won't touring start soon again?" she asked her self. Brynn took a spoonful of cereals in her mouth and continued scrolling.
Her page scrolling was interrupted when the screen showed Casey calling. She pressed the green button and placed it on her ear.
"Brynn!" Casey shouted.
"Where are you?" Brynn asked; worried. She glanced on the clock and it read 3:47. "It's so late and you're still awake?"
"I'm in the airport, remember? I'm taking the next flight to London soon," she reminded.
"Ohh. You take care there, okay? Oh by the way, I got free tickets to concert, so I didn't need line up anymore."
"What? How?," Casey confusingly asked.
"You will not beli-"
"I'm so sorry Brynn! But my plane is waiting already. I'll call soon as I get to London. Bye!" Casey ended her call and Brynn's left alone again.
Brynn ate her left over cereals left and drank the milk. She cleaned her bowls and glasses and left.
She went to her room and sat on the floor of her closet. She took the picture that was lying down inside the box.
It was a picture of her when she was younger and a guy about her age. The picture was so old that she can barely see they guy's face.
Although, there was a necklace that they both were wearing. A necklace that both had the half a heart pendant.
She glanced at the box and took thr necklace lying down there. She raised it up and examined it carefully. Trying to remember if there is anything important that she could recall.
Nothing.
Nothing is coming to her. "Think as hard as you can, brynn. Think!" she thought so hard that her head hurt. Almost as if it was going to explode.
She released the necklace and picture from her hand and placed it on her head.
This happens to her every single time she tries to remember anything from the necklace. She knew deep inside her heart that there is a special place for that there.
All she ever needs is to find the other owner of the half pendant for she knows is the only one that that could answer all her questions.
