Andy
"This dude is dumb as fuck!" I heard from the living room.
I was getting a tad more familiar with Ashton's friends so I recognized the voice as Presley's almost immediately.
"Yes," Grace agreed almost immediately, "if Sydney ever left me standing in the rain because his ex girlfriend called and said she had an emergency I would simply cut his dick into tiny pieces and feed it to my dog!"
That statement kind of caught me of guard so I decided to round the corner and join them.
"Um, is everything ok?"
"No Andy," Ashton sighed, "guys are shitty and it's not alright!"
"Hey," I crinkled my eyebrows trying my best to look offended, "not all of us are shitty!"
You would've thought I had just finished the funniest joke on the planet with the way the three of them fell to the floor with laughter.
"Thanks guys!" I smiled sarcastically.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry," Ashton said between her fits of laughter, "But- seriously you've never talked to more than one girl at once?"
"Yeah aren't you like a rockstar or something?" Presley chimed in.
"Yes," I said keeping my gaze locked on Ashton, "and no, when I'm in an exclusive relationship with someone, I tend to focus on that person!"
Ashton gained composure and sent me a questioning glance, "Seriously?"
"Yeah," I thought for a second, "actually, the only serious girlfriend I've ever had- cheated on me...so..."
Way to lighten the mood.
There was a moment of silence- awkward silence might I add- before anyone spoke up.
"Well she's a dumb fuck," Ashton breathed out causing my eyes to snap to hers, "and if I ever meet her I'll let her know. Anyways, you want to watch this movie with us? It's almost over but, you can pick what we watch next!"
I couldn't really think of what to say to her response so, I just nodded and took the seat next to her on the couch.

I ended up picking Batman The Dark Knight which didn't seem to please anybody but Presley. Which I must admit, was nice because prior to this, I had nothing in common with any of Ashton's friends which, was a little troubling for someone who wasn't good at socializing to begin with. Even though no one else was originally interested, the movie had them hooked within the first 5 minutes. Ashton did fall asleep on my shoulder about halfway through it though and, even though I told Gracie and Presley I would wake her up so they could just go fall asleep in her room, I couldn't bring myself to do it. She looked so at peace, and in the short time I've spent with her, I've never seen her look at peace.
I was brought out of my thoughts with a sudden voice.
"Shit sorry Andy," Ashton yawned, "how long was I out?"
"About 45 minutes." I said glancing at the bright blue numbers displayed on the clock that rested on the tv stand.
The tv was off now so they stood out as they were the only light remaining in the room.
"Sorry," she apologized once again while rubbing her eyes, "I didn't mean to-"
"Ashton," I interrupted her with a chuckle, "it's ok don't worry about it."
As she looked up at me, I instinctively took the curly strand of hair hanging in her face and, tucked it behind her ear.
Then without thinking, I started to lean in.
