"Listen," I said as I sat down next to Adrian on the sofa in our living room, "I'm really sorry for uh- for not being there for you."

I wasn't looking in his eyes. I was too scared to.

"It's ok-"

"It's not really," I chuckled, "but I appreciate that. How was rehab?"

"It was," Adrian took a second to collect his words, "it was hard but, I'm also really glad I did it. I just hope I can do the whole staying clean thing."

"I think it will be hard," I shrugged, "and you might even slip up a couple times but, I don't want to be like I was before. I want to be there for you. What I did- just walking out and making you deal with your shit on your own was so wrong."

"Thank you," he smiled taking me into a hug, "I really appreciate that Ashton."

"I needed to say it," I sniffled, "you were there for me when I went through my shit and it's ok if you need me there for you. That's what I'm here for."

We both chuckled at my statement.

"So how was life on the road?" Adrian grinned.

"It was really fun," I sighed happily, "I mean you were right it was really hard but, It was also so cool to see so many different places and people."

Adrian nodded with a smirk on his face, "Isn't it just the best?"

I nodded.

"So uh," He scratched the back of his neck, "what about you and Andy?"

I pursed my lips and looked to the ground, trying to figure out what I wanted to say, "I mean- you probably saw everything online."

"Yeah but there's a difference between online and actual reality. So, what's the deal?"

I sighed, running my hand down my face, "Well-"

My ringtone cut me off, causing me to stop our conversation and hit answer, "Hello?"

"Joooooo what's up jo?" The voice I hadn't heard in 3 days slurred out.

"Andy?"

"Yup that is my name," He giggled.

He giggled.

"Andy," I breathed out taking in Adrian's concerned expression, "Andy have you been drinking?"

It was 11:30 in the morning.

"Yup," He said popping the p, "but only a lot tho."

Oh baby.

"I miss you," he whined after a moment of silence, "are you home? I'm gonna come over so we can talk ok? Jo I'll just- I'll be over in like 20 min-"

"That's ok," I rushed out, "here you don't have to drive just- I'll come get you."

"That's ok," He laughed, "I'll just be coming right now."

"No," I tried to remain calm as I silently asked Adrian for his keys, "Adrian's here so if I come and get you we'll have more time for just us to talk. How does that sound?"

"That sounds perfect," Andy sighed with content, "just me and my girl. I miss you."

"Ok," I sighed, trying to keep my voice from breaking, "I'll come and get you right now."

"Ashton?"

"Yes my love?"

"Don't hang up ok?"

Andy

I had a brief moment of panic as I woke up. Then, I recognized the three lavenders colored walls with the fourth one being a gray accent.

"Good morning," Ashton sighed entering her bedroom, "or- goodnight which ever you're feeling O guess."

I looked to the clock on her night stand before I winced in pain. My head was killing me.

Great. I did it again.

"What time is it anyway?"

"7:45."

I had both drunken the morning away, and slept the day away.

Fan- fucking- tastic.

"Great." I sat up on the edge of her bed before rubbing my temples with my hand.

"Andy," Ashton came over and sat down next to me, "I'm worried about you."

"You don't have to be."

"I know but I-"

"No," I muttered, "no buts Jo- Ashton god damnit!"

I had pushed myself off of the bed and was now pacing back and forth with my hands rested on my head, "You don't get to tell me you need space. You don't get to tell me that you can't do this and then turn around and pretend like you give a shit. If you have a shit you wouldn't have fucking left me in that fucking kitchen in the first place!"

"Right," she nodded, "you mean when you told me that you didn't appreciate me being up your ass all the time?"

"That's-"

"No Andy," She stood up and stepped up to me, "I didn't put myself into this shit. You called me ok, and- and I picked up because- because-"

"Because what Ashton?" I yelled causing her to flinch.

God damn it Andy. Can you just try not to fuck one thing up.

"You're scaring me," She said as tears started to pour down her face, "you are one of the most important people in my life, and I'm scared I'm going to lose you."

"Ok, we'll I don't need you. I don't need you to control how I live my life"

"Andy please," Ashton begged as I walked towards the door, "I don't want you to leave."

"I am broken," I snapped looking to her, tears threatening to spill from my eyes.

"you know that I've always been broken."
