Ashton

I couldn't fucking believe him.

"Jo," Andy yelled running out of the diner behind me, "Jo wait!"

After everything I told him. After everything we've been through he lost faith in me just like that.

"For what Andy," I chuckled dryly, "for you to say I'm sorry? Cause that won't be enough this time."

"I am," he yelled after me as I continued walking away, "please just stop and listen to me."

I wasn't even paying attention to what I was doing or, where I was going. I just wanted to get away.

"Jo wait," I tuned out Andy's yelling, "Ashton look out!"

I didn't even see that I was in the middle of a crosswalk, much less that there was an oncoming vehicle.

But, by time I had it was too late.

Andy

I don't think I'd get the image of Ashton's body rolling over that white SUV anytime soon.

"Fuck!" I screamed as I ran out into the intersection to grab her unconscious body.

"Andy?" I looked over to see Adrian standing at the curb, not knowing what to do with himself.

"Call 911."

Adrian

I was zoned out, sitting against the wall of the hospital, counting the tiles on the floor. I hated that we were here again.

"She'll be fine," I looked up to see Andy pacing back in forth through the hall, running his hands through his hair, "she'll be fine. It'll all be fine. Right?"

"Andy," I yelled after about 45 seconds of him freaking out, "will you calm the fuck down you're making it worse!"

"Right," he slid down next to me, "I'm sorry it's just. I can't get it out of my head."

Oh shit he saw the whole thing. I didn't even think about that.

"Of course. How are you holding up?" I sighed placing my hand on his soldier.

"I shouldn't of said anything to her," he started tearing up, "she wouldn't of walked out and we'd still be eating breakfast and-"

Andy had his head buried into his hands as I cut him off, "it's not your fault man, you didn't know how she was gonna react."

"But-"

"Come on dude," I sighed out of frustration, "you don't think I thought about blaming myself the first time I was here with her? Trust me I did but, then I realized that that won't do shit! We need to be there for Ashton. Not wallowing in self pity, alright?"

Andy nodded his head.

"For Ashton Wright?"

Adrian and I both jumped up at the doctor's voice.

"How is she?" We both asked at the same time.

"She's in stable condition," he smiled, "actually she suffered way less damage than she should've. I mean her left rib is cracked, and her right arm is fractured but, other than that and a some minor bruising, she should be fine."

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in before silently thanking a god that I wasn't even sure I believed in.

"She's actually awake now if you'd like to go see her?" The doctor said as he finished writing a note on his clipboard.

"Awesome." Adrian said before walking down the hall to his sister's room.

"Thank you so much." I smiled at the doctor before following.
