"Andy." She said, the expression on her face unreadable.

"Hey uh," I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly, "hey."

"What-"

Ashton's question was cut off by Presley's voice.

"Hey so I'm gonna go but, I'll see you," She hugged Ashton before making her way past both Ashton and I, "it was nice to see you again Andy."

I smiled at her as she passed me before focusing back on to who I came to see, "So I came- I wanted to- do you have a minute to talk- maybe like outside or-"

"Yeah we can talk," she smiled warmly with a bit of an awkward chuckle, "here let's go over here."

Ashton gestures towards an area of her driveway that was right in front of her garage, so I moved over there, her coming following me.

"So how's everything going?" I asked crossing my arms over my chest and focusing on the cement below my feet.

"Um alright," Ashton shrugged, "I've obviously been better but I've also been worse so..."

"Right," We both chuckled awkwardly, "yeah, I guess I could say the same thing."

After my statement, Ashton and I stood around awkwardly for about 1 minute.

"So-"

She interrupted me, "Andy what did you need to talk about?"

"Right yeah," I nodded, "yeah uh- I just- I just wanted to tell you that- I was- jesus I'm going to rehab."

Ashton

"I'm going to rehab."

My eyes snapped to his and I opened and closed my mouth a couple of times before speaking.

"Really?" I squeaked out earning a slow nod from him.

I smiled brightly before almost tackling Andy into a hug, "Oh my god! I'm so proud of you!"

Andy laughed lightly at the force of my body, "Yeah. It took a lot for me to decide to check back in. My stupid fucking ego and all that shit."

It was my turn to laugh as I pulled back and wipe a few tears that strayed from my eyes while his hands moved to my hips, "Yeah but, you're doing it and that's a really big thing."

He nodded at me for a second before looking at me, truly examining my features, causing me to pull out of his grip. It's funny that you can forget how much you miss someone until you're in their arms again.

"So uh," I cleared my throat, "when do you leave?"

"I'm uh," Andy paused to run his hair through his hair, "tomorrow morning. I'll be gone for about a month and uh- I actually- I remember you telling me you liked my car so- I wanted to drop by and see if you'd be willing to keep it while I'm gone? My buddy is gonna drop me off so I honestly just wanted to come say goodbye, and drop off my keys."

I grinned at him before taking him in for another hug, "Absolutely Andy. I'm really happy you're doing this for yourself. Can I ask what made up your mind?"

"Thank you," He smiled, "and uh- I'm gonna be honest it was when Remington brought me your song."

What?

If I'm being honest, I didn't mind that Andy had heard it, I mean I wrote it for him and he was gonna hear it at some point. Would I have liked to play it for him myself? Sure, I wrote it but, I don't think I'd ever have the courage to say all of that to his face. That's why I wrote it out to begin with.

"Oh."

"Yeah," He sighed, "and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. I just got in my own head and- it was just really fucking stupid."

"No Andy you're fine-"

"Not really," He scoffed, "the decisions I've made in the past month are probably some of the stupidest I've ever made, and that includes my first shit show."

I smiled sympathetically before rubbing his shoulder reassuringly.

"You haven't been yourself," I shrugged, "you fell, and you're helping yourself back up, and I'm here for you ok?"

"You know what?"

I gave Andy a questionable look, prompting him to continue.

"I don't-" He started to say something, and it sounded like it was going to be important.

"What is it?"

"Nothing. I'll see you in a month."

With that Andy sent me one last smile, along with a wave before he hopped in the car that followed him to my house.

I'll see you in a month.
