Ashton

"I mean he told me he didn't feel comfortable leaving you on your own but, he didn't go into grave detail," Andy answered my questions while clearing the table.

"I just assumed you'd be a trouble maker but I don't know how I could every possibly think that."

He ended his remark with a hint of sarcasm and a smirk on his face but, the smirk faded away as he noticed my eyes drop to the floor.

"Ashton, is there something I'm missing?" He wondered as he sat back down next to me.

"It's not really a big deal or anything," I rambled, "actually just forget I said anything."

"Ashton," he then pondered for a moment, "what's your middle name?"

"I-," I was caught off guard by his sudden question, "Jo."

"Jo," Andy smiled to himself, "I was gonna use your full name but, maybe I'll just call you Jo from now on."

"Well what's your middle name?"

"Dennis."

"Ok Dennis you do whatever makes it easier for you to sleep at night." I gave a sarcastic smile and moved myself to the couch in the living room.

"Wait a minute,"Andy followed me, "seriously Jo fill me in."

I took a deep breath before I speak, "Um...so the day before Adrian called you?"

"Yeah?"

"I was- I was in the hospital."

"Oh," Andy scooted a little closer to me as he felt my discomfort for the subject, "ok. What for?"

"I uh-" I sniffle a bit, "tried to kill myself."

I watched the expression on his face fall as we sat in silence for what felt like hours.

Then, he held me in his arms and I began to sob. Violently.

Andy

My heart ached as I rocked Ashton in my arms. I never would've known if she never told me. I mean I could tell she wasn't in the best state but, then again, who was. I guess that's the problem. You never know what people are going through until they either let you in or, are gone.

"I'm so sorry Jo." I left a kiss on her forehead in an attempt to offer my support and comfort.

"No I am."

I pulled back and made sure I was looking in her eyes before I spoke again.

"What on earth do you have to be sorry for?"

"I was so stupid," she cried, "and I let everyone down! I don't know how my brother was able to forgive me and my friends! They didn't even know what was going on because I was ignoring all their calls."

"It's not your fault," I whispered pulling her back into my chest.

"How?"

"You tried to fix a problem with the only solution you could find," I explained, "please trust me when I say I know what it's like to feel like it's the only way out."

I waited another minute before speaking again.

"Nobody ever truly wants to die but, sometimes living can feel impossible."
