Andy

I woke up and realized that Ashton had left my bed sometime after our...activities. I stared at the ceiling a moment before I started to feel conflicted. Yesterday- well today i guess, was probably the best sex I had in a good amount of time and I wouldn't mind doing it a couple thousand more times but, that's all I wanted it to be. I wasn't ready for another relationship. I sat up and rubbed my hands down my face.

What if she felt differently?

What if I gave her the wrong idea?

As I climbed out of bed and threw on a pair of grey sweats I pushed my thoughts to the back of my mind and headed downstairs to grab something to eat.

"Good morning," Ashton smiled from the stove as I entered the kitchen, "how'd you sleep."

Pretty fucking good thanks to you.

"Alright."

I smiled back as I watched her scoop the eggs from the pan she was using onto two separate plates.

"Where's uh- where's Gracie and Presley?"

"They left around 7:00."

"Oh." I responded not knowing what else to say.

Ashton slid a plate in front of my spot at the island before grabbing two forks and sending one of those my way as well.

"Are you ok?"

I nodded.

"Ok," she said taking a bite of her eggs, "well about last night-"

"I actually think we should um- talk about that."

I focused my attention to my plate as I poked my breakfast with my fork.

"Right," she agreed, "so what about it."

"Mmm these are good," I mumbled, taking a bite of the eggs before getting to the point, "but anyway, I'm not really looking for anything right now so I really hope that you didn't get the wrong idea-"

I'm cut off by her giggle, "So you've been overthinking it too?"

She giggled even more at my confused expression.

"Don't worry I'm not looking for anything either."

"Oh thank god," I sighed with relief before realizing that might've come off wrong, "sorry, I didn't mean it that way but, I just don't think I should throw myself into another relationship just yet."

Ashton swallowed the bite she was chewing before asking a question.

"Is it because of your ex?"

"Well, mostly I guess. I mean what she did for sure  fucked with me but, that wasn't the only issue in our relationship. My career includes being on the road a lot," I began to explain, "I don't think I should've been with Cassie in the first place."

"I think I kind of understand," Ashton responded, smiling sympathetically, "I mean it's really hard to form a connection with someone when you don't really ever see them in person."

I nodded, really affected by the fact that she seemed to understand what I was going through perfectly.

"Andy?"

"Yup?"

There was about 30 seconds of silence before Ashton spoke again.

"Did Adrian tell you why he wanted you to stay with me?"
