remingtonleith My favorite Ashton Wright
Ashton_Wright I don't appreciate you stealing my line but it's ok I love you anyway.

I was brought out of the shower by the sound of a knock on my door.

"Just one second!" I mumbled as another knock sounded.

"Andy-," Remington was cut off by me opening the door, "oh. Hey."

"Hi," I said with a scowl, "are you surprised to see me? After you knocked on my front door?"

Remington widened his eyes at my snappiness, before he opened and shut his mouth to speak a couple of times.

"Do you need something," I sighed, "or did you just come all the way to New York to stare at me?"

"I-," He seemed to be extremely taken back at my words, "yeah- no- I meant no- just- can I come in please?"

I narrowed my eyes and just stared at him for a second before stepping aside and lazily gesturing my hand towards my living room. Remington stepped through my doorway and moved to sit down on my couch.

"Do you want something to drink?" I asked as I grabbed my water bottle from my kitchen counter.

My apartment wasn't that big so the kitchen and the living room were in the same room.

"No I'm good," Remington shrugged looking around the room, placing his eyes on anything but me, "thanks though."

I walked back around the couch and took the spot next to him.

"So," Remington chuckled awkwardly, "how are you doing-"

"What do you want Rem?"

"Right- yeah ok," He pursed his lips, "I just- I'm genuinely here to check up on you. We're all worried sick."

I looked at him in disbelief for a moment before slowly propping my my elbow on my thigh, and sunk my head into hand.

"and by "we're all" you mean Ashton right?"

It was easy for me to use her first name when I was talking to someone else. I never used her middle name unless I was talking to her. It was how I referred to her and, I didn't want anyone else seeing her the same way I saw her. I didn't want anyone else to love her in the way I loved her.

The way I love her.

"Well," Remington sighed, "she's the one that brought it up but we all-"

"I told her to bud out," I sighed angrily, rubbing my hand down my face, "she broke up with me. She told me she couldn't be friends with me. If she doesn't want to be in my life fine. I can do this without her. I can make it with out her, and I want to so she should just let me."

"Andy-man," Remington said trying to read my face, "are you trying to convince me or yourself?"

"Fuck you Remington," I said taking a swig from my water bottle and trying to prevent my face from scrunching up, "I'm fucking fine."

Remington pursed his lips, "Right. So, what's in the water bottle."

"I don't know Remi what's usually in the water bottle?"

My heart squeezed painfully at the memory of Ashton giving him that nickname.

"Water," he shrugged, "but I don't think that's currently what's in the water bottle. Let me see."

I sighed out of frustration, before hesitantly handing the bottle over and watching him open the lid and bring it up to his nose. His face scrunched up at the smell.

"Fucking christ Andy," He sent me a glare, "what happened to starting over? I thought you were gonna stop drinking again?"

"I am," I shrugged, "I can stop whenever I want to."

"Ok," Remington nodded sarcastically, "so how about now?"

I just sighed and stared at the floor, "I don't need this. I don't need any of this fucking bullshit."

I need her.

"I think you can do this," Remington said, "it might be hard but you've done it before-"

"Can you just go?"

"Andy," Remington sighed, "we care about you. Ashton cares-"

"Remington just go!" I yelled.

I was already thinking about her way more than I wanted to. I didn't need him trying to use the way I cared about her against me. Hold my love for her against me.

"Fine," He said quietly after a moment, "just do me a favor."

"What?"

Within 5 seconds I got a dropbox notification on my phone.

"That's the demo for a song we recorded yesterday," Remington sighed, getting off of the sofa and walking to the door, "give it a listen."

"Why?"

"Ashton wrote it," He shrugged, "you claim that she doesn't care but she wrote it about you."

Remington started out the door before turning around, "oh and Andy."

"Yup?"

His statement wasn't mean but, it was firm.

"You're not the only one hurting. So stop acting like you are and get your shit together."
