Andy

"Honey, I'm home!" Ashton shouted as she walked through the front door and plopped her bag down by the stairs.

I gave her a nod before looking back to my phone.

"Jeez," She sighed sitting next to me, "don't look so excited to see me."

I chuckled as I walked to the kitchen to grab a snack, "I'll try harder next time okay?"

"You better." She mumbled

"So uh," I asked taking my spot back, "how was your day?"

Ashton scooted closer to me before stealing a chip, "Hey!"

She giggled as I moved the bag away, "It was good. Nothing special."

"Nice."

I scooted further away.

The past couple of days I've been trying to keep my distance just a little. I mean, I wasn't really sure what I was feeling for her and I just wanted a second to figure it out.

"Um, yeah I guess." She mumbled before getting up and going to her room.

That was very subtle Andy.

I sighed before walking following her up the stairs and knocking on her door.

Ashton

"Come in!" I called out.

"Hey," Andy said opening my door and coming to sit by me on my bed, "are we good?"

"I don't know Andy," I sighed, "are we?"

"What do you mean?"

"You've been acting weird ever since yesterday," I chuckled even though the way he was acting kinda stung, "listen if this is about me calling you baby-"

"What," he chuckled, "Jo that's not it."

"Well than what is it-"

We seemed to cut each other off with kissing a lot.

"Hey," I pushed back and bopped him in the forehead, "I'm supposed to be mad at you!"

I got up off my bed to walk out the door but, Andy pulled me on to his lap.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry!" he chuckled kissing my head.

"Just," I sighed laying my head on his shoulder, "can you tell me what's going on?"

He sighed, "I don't know. I guess that's the problem."

I scooted off his lap and back to my spot on the bed so I could turn to look at him, "What do you mean?"

"I just- ever since our talk yesterday-"

"Andy I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"

"No," he smiled at me, "trust me it's not that."

So he didn't hear what I said?

"I didn't mind that."

So he did hear?

"Oh."

"Actually that's just it. I really liked the way it felt to hear you call me that."

"Oh."

Wait- what?

"Yeah," he chuckled awkwardly, "and when you started talking about how distance would be worth it for the right person..."

Andy paused to gather his words before speaking again.

"The only person I could think of was you."
