LAURICE
"How about this?" Philip suggested so I turned to look at what he's pointing at.
It was a set of gold earrings and I smiled at the sales personnel that took out the set from under the glass. The set was really cute and I think it's going to go well with my fit for my pre-birthday shoot. Pinakinggan ko yung sinasabi ng sales person but when I heard Philip ask for the price, I interfered by asking what other pieces would go well with the earrings as I put it back on its case from trying to see how it would look on me.
Honestly, I was planning to buy all the jewelry that I'm going to use on my birthday but I decided to just do it at a later date. Besides, I have only chosen a pair of earrings and a bangle bracelet pero more than an hour na kami rito.
"Can I?" Philip asked.
Napatingin naman ako sa kan'ya and I stopped for a moment to think before nodding and giving him the necklace that I wanted to try. I reached for behind my neck to remove the necklace I was wearing but I felt his finger brush against mine. Which is why I just decided to put my hair on top of my shoulder.
When the necklace was secure around my neck, I turned my head from side to side without my eyes leaving the mirror and I smiled before saying that I'll take it.
"I'll pay for everything," Philip suddenly said which made me stop from looking at the rings
"No you're not," I immediately said.
"You can think of it as my early birthday gift to you," he replied.
"I only accept early gifts from family and friends."
I smiled at him as I asked for a few rings that I wanted to try on while he tried to convince me that it could be just a random gift. Which I rejected as I pointed to three rings that I'll be buying. We aren't exactly in any type of relationship where we can just give each other things.
"Listen," I whispered and faced him, "not even one of my family or friends is allowed to buy me something very expensive. Especially not when it amounts to more than a million. I would rather have them donate it to my organization so it could help more."
Kasi I am more than capable of being able to pay for my own splurges with my personal money and I don't really feel comfortable when people spend millions for me. It's also why ever since I built Royal Hands with the girls, I've been using all of the money I earn from the taxes there. I also work with an accountant to publish the expenditures of the organization for them to know that I'm transparent when I say that I use the money I get from taxes there.
When the sales personnel returned with the jewelry packed, I opened my purse to take out my personal card and gave it to them. I was relieved that Philip didn't insist any longer after I heard how much was the total.
Buti na lang he dropped it and he told me na we can go window shopping muna because what he planned for us to do was to watch a musical that won't start until later.
"I think this will look good on you," Philip said and handed me a dress.
My brows raised and because I liked the color, I took it from him and walked over to the mirror. The sales personnel that have been assisting us walked over to me again and said things about the dress. Philip also involved himself in the conversation and I keep getting myself shocked with his knowledge in these things.
"Oh right, you went to Diamond University for college diba?" I asked him.
"I took up theater production there."
"Do you have any plans to practice?"
"I am; I'm in charge of the casts' costumes for the play."
"Oh, I thought directing ang focus mo," I said.
