LAURICE
"Won't they get hurt from this?" I asked, picking up one of the glasses and showing it to one of the members of the catering. There's a crack kasi.
"Ay, that's not supposed to be here. Wait lang po."
"Thank you, I just don't want any of the kids getting wounded," I smiled.
The crew member that I was talking to took the glass and I heard them asking for someone. When I walked around some more, I heard the door open and I found myself smiling as I turned around. Chris just entered the venue and he's returning the greetings.
We found ourselves putting our arms around each other as soon as we were in front of each other.
"How's work?" I asked him.
"Pretty much the same, I just finished my current cases while I made sure that those who will be getting the others are well informed. Although I still have cases that cannot be passed to others. How about you?"
"Just doing final checks, alam mo ba there was one glass na may crack?" I told him. "The staff must have overlooked it, good thing I saw the glass."
I told Chris naman na Keane is overlooking the preparation of the food since it's their company naman. Tapos Tara, Neil, and Candice are keeping the kids entertained. While I'm here—we are here to check if everything that is needed is ready.
In the middle of our conversation, the party organizer that's helping me to oversee things came to us. We were told na the lighting and audio system are good. Keane also came out with someone pushing a cart and he instructed some people to put the cart's content where he pointed.
Just as I finished talking to the organizer, I noticed na Chris wasn't beside me kaya hinanap ko s'ya. I found him by the nearest table and his hands were planted on it as he leaned.
"Something wrong?" I asked him.
"Who exactly is going to sit here?" Tanong n'ya.
"Us and that table over there, sponsors who confirmed their attendance," I answered while pointing.
Walang sinabi si Chris, instead, he looked around and after a few minutes of him scanning the venue like an eagle out for its prey, he took the vase from the tables I pointed as the ones that will be occupied by sponsors.
"You're going to rearrange it?" I asked.
"Did you request the shop to arrange this?" Chris asked and I told him na I just chose a bouquet set from the shop where I got it from based on the party's theme, it was placed as is.
"So are you rearranging it?" I repeated.
Chris answered yes, kaya naman I requested the organizer to bring some things that I think are needed. Those things being a tray or something so that the table cloth will not get wet and scissors to which Chris corrected with pruning shears preferably and just shears if there's none.
"Why shears?"
"You can cut better with shears at baka masugatan ka lang kung gagamit ka ng regular scissors sa pag-cut ng flower stems."
"I mean...there's a difference between scissors and shears?"
Chris explained the difference naman to me and all I concluded was scissors is for things na easy to cut, like paper. While shears naman, they're usually bigger than scissors and meant for things na makapal like flower stems.
Pagdating ng mga kailangan, Chris took out the flowers from the vase and as he did his thing with the flowers, all I could do was watch him. From time to time he will hold a flower or leaf in front, like how I would put a dress over me while standing in front of a mirror. He even kept doing it repeatedly kaya I just put my tablet down to hold the flower para hindi na n'ya kailangan abutin yung flower sa tray.
