LAURICE

"Girl, imagine mo naman. Do you have any idea how embarrassing it was to act like that? Tapos may Crown Prince pala na nandon?"

"Why are you making it sound like it's my fault you acted like that in front of a Crown Prince?" Tanong ko. "Stop making a big deal out of it kasi I didn't even know you were going to body slam me."

"Stop making a big deal out of it," Candice mocked, "for you it's not! Sa akin oo kasi hindi naman araw-araw may mame-meet kang Crown Prince!"

"Then go to the International Court every day." Sabi ko. "At haven't you seen enough of Kuya?"

"'Wag naman yung may asawa Lauren! Pero why the International Court?"

"If you want to see him every day. He's going to work there for a year," sagot ko.

Candice kept on talking about the Great Emerald Crown Prince and there's no point in trying to stop her. We'll somehow end up back to that topic; might as well just read and let her talk. Besides, I don't want to be overheard by other people talking about another guy with a high social status, my interest might be mistaken to be what it's not.

It's enough that people are talking about that there could be some sort of marital arrangement between Christopher and I just because he's here. This is all because of that freaking bouquet throwing curse that netizens came up with. It's so absurd but I don't know why I'm worried about it.

Or should I really be?

I mean, Vannie caught Tori's bouquet and she started to date again although I can't say that it might lead to marriage. Jessie caught Charlotte's bouquet and now she's in a private relationship that is actually going well. My God, should I pretend to feel sick during the bouquet toss on my friends' future weddings?

This is why I should refrain from engaging in what other people think about random things. One moment, the idea is absurd then the next, it makes sense because of some random person who made it make sense.

"Oh my God, may practice test tayo!" Candice exclaimed.

Because of that, the other people in class who were indulging in sharing whatever they were talking about began reading seriously. Then they all went in a hurry; taking out their books or reviewers.

As expected, the quiz wasn't short and was both a refresher for the topic before the break and a preliminary test for the next topic. It's kind of chaotic since everything in review class is fast paced. So it's surprising my brain hasn't exploded from what felt like a semester's worth of lessons of different subjects being taught in more or less 5 hours.

"May sched ka ba ng gabi?" Tanong ni Candice.

"Formal dinner or meeting? I'm not sure talaga kasi 'di ko memorized yung sched ko," sagot ko habang nagh-highlight continuously.

My phone vibrated and my brows furrowed when I saw that it's a softcopy of an official letter sent by Ate Ellis through email. I had to keep myself from frowning because I was already used to the environment and handling the finances of the companies of the family. I also think na I'll take more trips than before or take one heavier business within this year. Para raw I can learn how to manage finances and investments on an international scale.

They weren't even going to wait for me to pass my board exam.

"What's with the face? May s-in-end na naman bang corny meme si Keane?"

"No, at least not yet. It's just more Royal work," I sighed, "I'm hungry."

"Ako rin. Looks like may business lunch sina Tara. Where do you want to eat?" Candice asked while looking at her phone.
