LAURICE

"Kuya, why are you sneaking around?" I asked him kasi he's peeking by the door sa dining room.

"So you're not in a sour mood? Wala na ulit yung spoiled brat Laurice?"

"Excuse me?" I asked him.

"Ah, wala na nga so I can ask you this favor." Kuya said and finally entered. "I invited Christopher here kaso nalimutan kong may meeting pala ako at susunduin ko si Ellis para sa OB check up n'ya."

"That sounds more like nalimutan mong OB check up ni Ate later," I told him but he shushed me with wide eyes.

He totally forgot and was reminded by his butler.

"Fine, just tell Chris na we'll hang out at the lake," I said and took another bite of my chicken.

Kuya was silent after kaya I looked at him while chewing my chicken but he just sighed while shaking his head. He patted my head before leaving the room and I heard him ask someone if gising na ba si Kyle. All I could do was to furrow my brows as I stared at the direction Kuya took.

After ko kumain, I just did my work. I was starting to feel better than I did pero I still chose to work within the palace. While I was doing my work naman, I received a message from Chris.

Logan told me. Are you busy? I can cancel.

No.

Don't cancel.

I can be there past six. Do you want anything?

Take out, pizza? I don't know, you choose.

Any drinks that you want?

I'm good with anything. See you later :)

My eyes widened when I saw him use an emoji and I couldn't help but smile.

And I don't know what got into me kasi the paperworks that I needed to work on was a lot pero I managed to finish it early. I even had time to lay on my bed and watch on my laptop. Nag-alarm din ako at nang tumunog 'yon, I went to my closet to find something to wear.

I was already wearing a black turtleneck and jeans. Kaya I wore a black boots then took one of my beige trench coats. When I received a message from Chris naman na he's on the way, I called the security of the lake to tell them na build a bonfire.

Sinabihan ko si Chris kanina to tell me if malapit na s'ya kaya when he messaged me his location, I got myself driven there. I would've hung out there pero it's snowing and I don't know how to make a bonfire, so I'd most likely freeze to death there.

When the car was near the lake, I saw Chris' car there and he was talking to one of the caretakers of the lake. I smiled and thanked my bodyguard nang pinagbuksan ako ng pinto. Paglapit ko sa may bonfire, I saw Chris giving the caretaker something. Probably a tip so I also took out my wallet.

The caretaker declined at first nga kasi Chris already gave him a tip pero I insisted like I do with the rest.

"I mean, kahit umayaw ka pwede ko i-add sa salary mo," I told him.

That had the caretaker accept my tip din. I already told my driver na isabay yung caretaker before returning to the palace.

When there were only two of us did I notice how Chris looked. He told me na he's just going to get the food he ordered, and I saw him wearing a three-piece blue suit underneath a gray trench coat. He also has a black scarf around his neck.
