CHRISTOPHER

"Oh hey," I greeted Lauren's friends; Victoria who's a Fair Youth from Great Amber, Princess Hadley of Great Peridot, Princess Vanessa of Great Amethyst, and Jessie the popstar and Fair Youth from Great Diamond.

"Your Highness."

"Oh, please don't," I groaned. "But that room's Logan's and that's Lauren's." I pointed at their rooms.

I only smiled at them as I entered Logan's room because it feels inappropriate to tell them to have fun when there's nothing fun about what they're about to see.

"Oh, tubig mo. Tantanan mo pagpapabili ng kape sa butler mo. May UTI ka na at lahat habang nasa ospital sige ka pa sa kape?" Sermon ko naman kay Logan.

Hayop na 'to. Hindi lang pala dahil sa stress naospital, dahil din pala hindi masyadong umiinom ng tubig kahit ang daming iniinom na kape. Panay inom pa ng alak nitong mga nakaraang buwan.

"Wow, thank you. Damang-dama ko ang pag-alaga mo grabe."

"Umayos ka aalis ako bukas. Alam mo namang walang magawa sa 'yo minsan mga bantay mo."

"Pupunta ka ba sa libing? Sa susunod na araw 'yon diba?" Tanong n'ya at tumango ako kasabay ng buntong hininga. I'm flying out of Great Crystal tonight to attend to some business my brother and parents can't go to as my replacement and I'll fly to Great Sapphire after.

"Yeah. I'd go as the country's representative. Eh yung kapatid mo? Mukhang hindi papayag 'yon na hindi pumunta."

"Hindi talaga. May sasamang doctor at nurse sa flight namin pa-Great Sapphire. She really doesn't have a choice since she can't even stand on her own right now. That one's evident but it's already difficult to convince her not to push herself. What more for therapy."

What came with Lauren's return was the news that Prince Dominique had died. I don't really know what happened and some of the media thinks that I know what's happening just because I've been in Great Crystal for days. Pero ang totoo hindi ko talaga alam kasi binabantayan ko lang naman 'tong si Logan dahil sa request ng parents n'ya and also because I want to see how he's doing. Although minsan ending silang magkapatid binabantayan ko dahil nakakatulog si Logan sa kwarto ni Lauren. I'm also the only one who can force him to do stuff because his butler and guards are having a hard time making him do the basic things because he's still blaming himself about what happened.

"Christopher."

"Yeah?" Tanong ko habang nagt-type pa rin sa phone ko.

"Although I think it's going to take a while, can you look after Lauren in conferences in the future?" He asked.

"Sure," sabi ko.

I mean he really didn't have to ask kasi kita ko naman kung gaano kahirap yung nangyari sa kan'ya. Most likely it's worse than it looks because when we're in her room because Logan doesn't feel okay with leaving her alone, we'd see her go quiet all of a sudden. She's staring into space and then she'll suddenly cry.

There will be insensitive idiots who would come up to her and ask about her months of abduction like it's not a sensitive matter.

"Can I ask you something?" I heard Lauren say and I thought she was talking to Logan but when I looked at her, she was looking at me while Logan's asleep.

Minsan talaga kung kailan tulog yung isa saka naman gising yung isa.

"Do you need something? Water?" I asked. Tumayo na rin ako para kumuha ng baso ng tubig.

"It's okay. I just want to ask you if you can convince Kuya to enroll for the next semester." She said and smiled. "I heard he took the year off. Sayang naman because it's his last year in college."
