Her head was killing her, along with her knees as she massaged lotion over her legs. Eight hours, she had stood in a surgery, only for the patient to die. So she was glad to be home, with her sweats on. "Bradley...have you watched that episode of 20/20 or should I keep it on the tivo?"
"I don't care...delete it...keep it." He replied, tossing clothes from his suitcase into the hamper having just returned from his week long trip to Dallas.
"I'll keep it." She sighed, before tossing the remote to the other side of the bed.
"Are you going to do the laundry tomorrow?"
"I can put a load in...I don't have to be at work until noon."
"Do you think you could stop at the dry cleaner?" Bradley asked, closing up his empty suitcase and pushing it under their bed.
"Sure..." She hated going to the cleaners, especially when the short man at the counter always hit on her.
"I would but I have an early morning meeting."
"No...its fine. I'll go." She nodded, massaging the lotion over her arms.
"Thanks baby."
"No problem...baby." Meredith rolled her eyes.
"I think I left my toothbrush in the hotel." Bradley sighed, walking into the bathroom that was attached to their bedroom and closing the door half way.
"There are a few new ones in a package under the sink!" Meredith called.
"I can't find them." He called back.
"Under the sink next to the powder!"
"Oh...got them!" He yelled back.
"Told you." She laughed tiredly, leaning back against the pillow. She pushed her hair behind her ears before grabbing her book off of the night stand. Opening the book, her mind began to relax after a hard day of passionate work. As her eyes followed the words on the page, the sound of Bradley's cell phone filled their room. "Brad..." Meredith stopped, as the realized the water was on and he couldn't hear her. She closed the book, before checking to see who was calling. It was a woman. Danielle. Danielle. She bit her lip, before shaking her head slightly. "Bradley!"
"What?" He groaned, coming back into the bedroom. "I was brushing my teeth."
"You um...you had a phone call." Meredith lifted his phone up.
"Probably Jonathan." Bradley sighed, pulling his shirt off and tossing it in the hamper. "I'll call him in the morning."
"No it wasn't." Meredith shook her head, a knot forming in her stomach. It wasn't anything, she knew that so this had to stop. She couldn't have this knot for no reason. "Who is Danielle?"
"What?" He looked up quickly.
"Who is Danielle?"
"Oh..." Bradley laughed, shaking his head. "She's someone we're interviewing...a new client."
"Your client calls you this late at night?"
"Sometimes."
"Oh..." Meredith swallowed.
"We're supposed to tell them they can call us whenever something with the case comes up...some of them do." Bradley shurgged.
"Is she the same one who called last week?"
"I don't remember Meredith."
"I'm not trying to pry."
"She's just a client."
