Meredith couldn't stop giggling. She wasn't giggling because Derek was talking to their baby in the womb or because she was watching a comedy. She was laughing because the five year old girl with curly blonde pigtails was talking up a storm as she sutured her forehead. The little girl, Renee, was adorable. Meredith never thought a child could be more adorable and fascinating. When she had come in,her parents had been panicked and tears had been stained on Renee's cheeks but as soon as the little one had seen Meredith and suddenly opened her mouth and it hadn't shut since.

She had so many questions and Meredith was just trying to answer them all. She had carefully answered how a baby was delivered, how Santa Clause found a house with a new baby and much more. "You're very Brave Renee."

"You should seen...." Renee took a deep breath so she could finish her sentence. "How much it was bleeding at home!"

"Oh I believe it." Meredith giggled, before looking right back at the small face.

"It was gushing!" Renee said, wiping a stray tear from her face quickly.

"You don't feel anything I'm doing do you?" Meredith's voice turned soft.

"It feels like...funny." The little girl giggled.

"That is because we put some special medicine on it so it wouldn't hurt." Meredith replied. Meredith had always been great with bedside manner.

"My mommy said on the way here that you would do that." Renee explained. "Do you think I could be a doctor when I'm growed up?"

"I think you can be anything you want to be as long as you set your mind to it."

"I want to be a doctor...like you."

"Oh." Meredith couldn't help but smile weakly as the little girl pulled on the light pink zipper to her jacket.

"My mommy's mad."

"She is?"

"Yeah." Renee nodded, her curls bouncing in the pigtails. "She always says...Renee Anne...no jumping on the bed."

"So next time I hear 'No More Monkey's Jumping On the Bed' I will think of you." Meredith laughed.

"I love that song!"

"No more Renee Anne's jumping on the bed."

"But it's really fun."

"Hurting your head is not fun." Meredith couldn't help but smile at one of the Hello Kitty hair pieces holding the pigtails in place.

"Now you sound just like my mommy." Renee sighed dramatically.

"Oh."

"You look like my mommy too." Renee giggled. "Before Sammy came home."

"Why is that?" Meredith loved that small giggle.

"Your belly!" The little girl pointed.

"Oh I see."

"Mommy's was huger though."

"Well I still have time to get bigger."

"Sammy was inside of there for forever!"

"Wow." Meredith reached for a bit of gauze to stop some of the oozing.

"It feeled like...a hundred years."

"That's a long time."

"I think I'm a good big sister...Mommy and Daddy say I am. Will she have a big sister?" Renee asked, looking at Meredith, her eyes huge.
